The Osun Governorship Election Tribunal on Friday dismissed an application by the All Progressive Congress to stop the Peoples Democratic Party from inspecting election materials used during the Aug. 9 poll.
APC had filed an application on Aug. 28 asking the Osun State High Court to set aside an order given by Justice I.M Bako chaired panel that granted the request of the PDP to inspect election materials.
The panel now chaired by Justice Sulaiman Ambrusa said the earlier order given by the Bako-led panel was in order.
Ambrusa said the earlier order was granted by the panel on unambiguous ground and in compliance with the Electoral Act.
He said the process of filing was on the point of law by the PDP and that the order given by the panel was in line with the law.
The panel’s chairman, therefore, dismissed the application of the APC.
Mr Abiodun Adeogun, Counsel to the PDP, subsequently filed a fresh application that his client’s petition should be pasted on the tribunal’s notice board.
He said that the order given by the panel on Sept. 11 that the petition should be served on the governor by pasting it on the gate of the Government House was prevented by security men.
Adeogun urged the court to consider it fit to serve the respondent the petition by having it pasted on the tribunal’s notice board in view of the opposition to have it pasted on the Government House gate.
The tribunal granted the application and ordered that the governor should be served the PDP petition by having it pasted on the tribunal’s notice board.

Justice Salami where are you? please come ooooooo
ReplyDeletejustice Salami to come and render justice to tge highest bidder and obstruct justice!. With tge way APC is going, am beginning to conclude that the victory was not true, seems the party has something to hide. The election was acclaimed to be free and fair devoid of manipulation. then why should any party be afraid of the searchlight being beamed on it, deploying delaying tactics to scuttle the process, refusing service of petition, bringing unnecessary prayers!. Please allow the process to go on smoothly to the end if you are not hiding anything.
DeleteIf APC will have skeleton in their cupboards then PDP will have skeleton, flesh and blood in their own cupboards too.Has anybody ever wondered how PDP polled 292k votes in 5 LGs while APC polled 394k in 25 LGs ,what is the justification for PDP's huge number if not for rigging. There is no need APC trying to stop the trial, let it be brought up and people will see how PDP will be disgraced at the end. Sigidi fe sere ete , oni kagbe oun s'omi.
