A 29 year old Nigerian man based in Brookline, Pennsylvania, Samuel Okorie is accused of grabbing a woman at a public place and sexually assaulting her. The incident took place over the weekend in a residential neighbourhood.
The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Samuel Okorie. He lives in the 1600-block of Fallowfield Avenue where he was arrested Sunday morning.
Details of the incident are just now emerging.
According to the criminal complaint, Okorie approached the girl from behind at the service station, grabbed her cell phone and pushed her into some nearby bushes where he sexually assaulted her.
Then, the criminal complaint reports he allegedly dragged her to his home where another sexual assault took place. She was eventually able to escape, and then ran up the street to a neighbor’s home, frantically knocking on her door.
The homeowner, who did not want to be identified, said the victim came running to her door Sunday morning as she was getting ready to go to church.
She said the girl “had her shoes in her hands and was shaking uncontrollably, screaming, ‘Help me! Help me!’”
“The girl started crying louder and louder, yelling, ‘He raped me and he’s going to come and get me,’” the neighbor said.
The woman called 911 immediately, and police were soon on the scene.
Okorie is being held in the Allegheny County Jail on $150,000 straight cash bail. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled next week. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Igbos again? They are beast. He thinks he's in Nigeria. They should castrate him.
ReplyDeleteSuch hatred! Who are you to condemn the entire igbo race for just one man's sin? How sure are you Okorie is his real name?
Deleteigbos are olways tarnishing the image of our great country...wolves in lamb clothng...devils!
ReplyDeleteI rather prefer a rapist than the ones who goes about bombing and killing innocent people, those are the real beast!
ReplyDeleteI wonder when we will all learn that tribalism is a disease and a weakness? why demonize a whole pple cos of one man's crime? Am yet to see that tribe or society that's devoid of criminals. A certain British born Nigerian butchered a British soldier for whatever reasons, i didn't hear anybody attribute dat despicable act to d origin of his name or his tribe. Why? cos that wasn't a tribal issue, but an individual problem. Let's not be too hasty to judge or condemn other pple cos, d truth is dat every tribe have come to be, and there's no amount of hate preached that can erase them from existence. but if u think u're a better tribe, then when posting ur next comment, pls indicate ur tribe & let's take it from there.
ReplyDeleteGuys and Fellow-Nigerians, I am not of Igbo origing but I am a Nigerian. The idea here is to look critically at the accusation against this guy. The story doesn't just add up in my mind.
ReplyDeleteWhat would shock most of us commenting here is that the so-called rapist might just have been this Girl's regular Boy-Friend. Before you dismiss my point, re-read the statement again.
Point One - The guy was accused in his own apartment
Point Two - The said attack started at a Service Station and the guy dragged the girl to the bush - and then the guy dragged the girl to his home and continued raping her till she ran out and was screaming and banging on someone's door...
Some of these narratives in the article don't picture a possible scenario in any place in the US or Europe...
I don't live in the US - but my observation about some of these girls in the UK is that there might be some issues between them as lovers and she has decided to punish him.
If you haven't met and had any relationships with any of these our Caucasian girls before, please don't jump into any conclusion.
The Lord will deliver that guy if indeed he is innocent and is being unduly punished. A good number of Nigerian (and other African) guys are languishing in the prisons overseas for flimsy reasons occasioned by some of our Caucasian cousins - If they love you, any time you can sleep together. If there is any disagreement, the same sex you had enjoyed before becomes an act of rape.
Unfortunately, the law is never on the side of our men - once you are of our colour, you are naturally at a disadvantage...
Just my thoughts!
Quite a tall tale. Funny story, doesn't ring true. Note, this happened in a fully inhabited area, in a block with neighbours. He grabbed her cell phone, dragged her from the service station, pushed her into the bush, assaulted her, then dragged her to his house and continued the assault. The station and the road dey empty, abi? The neighbours dey deaf, abi? He did all that and waited in his house to be arrested. Abeg! Poor boy. Setup galore.
ReplyDeleteIt appears like the story of a love affair turned sour. It doesn't seem like rape. It will be nice to hear the guys version of what transpired before coming to any conclusions.
