If the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has his way, he will not want to live up to hundred years.
The 72 year old preacher doesn’t mind to live up to 90, but being hundred for him, is not necessary.
Pastor Adeboye gave an indication of his view on longevity last Sunday, while delivering the sermon at the 60th birthday of the founder and president of Living Faith Church worldwide, a.k.a Winners Chapel, Bishop Oyedepo.
‘’When I marked 70 and people prayed that I would be up to 80, I said amen. When they said I would be up 90, I said well, amen. But when they said 100, I didn’t say amen.
“I didn’t because I don’t know what offence I would have committed for God to keep me up to 100 in this sinful world when a crown of glory is awaiting me in heaven.
‘’I wouldn’t mind to be 92 though, so that I will be alive to preach when Bishop Oyedepo is 80. But to live up to 100, I don’t know about that,’’ Pastor Adeboye said, noting that every birthday is a reminder that ‘’our days are numbered’’. ReplyDeleteThis is indeed incredible. other xtian leaders & follwers should take a cue from this gentleman of God. Even though he is not perfect or may b wrong, his utterances, character, simplicity and approach to life will make u adore him. YORUBA adage says that " live today with tremble, fear and humility as if one would die tomorrow ". How many of our religious leaders ( xtian & muslim) can live up to this adage? Few! Few!! So few. Except to engage in arms, thieving, rituals and other degrading characters. Its shameful. So pastor boye as I want to call u this time, may God continue to uphold you and remaining upright others that I am not privy to know now but God knows them. But please I am begging you, don't disappoint ooooo. Laughter..... Bye.

What lesson or benefit is one supposed to derive from such talks? let him commit suicide then if he gets to 92 and still kicking. all this na part of the wash wash. See anonymous 5:57, the wash wash don catch am. A reasonable man of God would have said he would be satisfied living up to 92 but if God wills that he reaches 100 fine and good. At least it will be more years in his service. Not this callous display of humility according to anonymous 5:57

ReplyDeleteHe is the best story teller of all time. Almost all happenings and experiences happens to him. regarding how long he wants to live, it is only God Almighty that knows that and he might call him tomorrow. so weather 100 or 90 only God chooses and can tell when.
