A former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, has vowed to stop corruption if his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, is elected to power.
Mr. Buhari said the APC has a clear objective of securing and efficiently managing Nigeria. “We will stop corruption and make the ordinary people, the weak and the vulnerable our top priority,” he said.
The former head of state spoke while inaugurating a 250-bed Orthopaedic Hospital worth N1.12 billion constructed by the Sokoto State Government in Wamakko, Wamakko Local Government Area. Mr. Buhari was on a two-day official visit to the state to inaugurate and inspect several development projects executed by the state government.
Speaking during the commissioning, Mr. Buhari said he was impressed with the governor for initiating and completing the project. “It will further help in saving the lives of accident and emergency victims in the state and save them the trouble of travelling outside the state to seek medical services.
“I am so impressed with the systematic methods Wamakko had employed to execute all his people-oriented projects. “You should consider yourself lucky and I am very pleased with the even spread of your projects across the 23 local governments of the state,’’ he said. Earlier, Gov. Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State said his administration had accorded top priority to the health sector from 2007 to date. Mr. Wamakko said that the state government had provided a general hospital for each of the 23 local governments. “There are 240 primary health centres in the state, each provided with an ambulance, adequate medical personnel and equipment, among others.
“All these were in addition to several interventionist projects successfully implemented by the state government in the health sector,” he said. The Commissioner for Health, Ahmed Aliyu, said that the hospital would commenced the provision of orthopaedic and trauma services. Mr. Aliyu said the hospital was provided with adequate medical doctors, orthopaedic surgeons, nurses, boreholes, three generators, three ambulances, and four utility vehicles, among others. ReplyDeleteEL, you are among those who have been disillusioned and poisoned with the PDP's Propagandist toga against Buhari and it also showed that you are a very poor student of history or better still you were still suckling breast milk when he was a Head of State. If not you will understand that Buhari is far from those attributes which PDP are using against him to divide Nigerians along religious lines. let me refresh your memory, Buhari is till today the only man who has succeeded in driving out and crushing a similar insurgency (Maitasine) in Northern Nigeria and he is a Muslim. Also as Head a of State, he rejected the call for Nigeria to join the IOC only for IBB to approve and Nigeria joined but later withdrew. We all know how PDP twist and misquote any statements from anybody they perceive as a threat to their continued hold on to power. Its a shame and pity that someone like you who has been contributing positively and objectively on this blog can be gullible to fall into their trap of using the age old trick of divide and conquer through religious lines to poison the hearths of the same people they have stolen their wealth and future from. Remember Pastor Bakare (His VP candidate) would've as a no nonsense man cried out if Buhari is all what PDP is painting him as.
DeleteThe same people (PDP) are fully aware that they have no other tangible thing to pin point this man with in order to tarnish his image with (his character and record remains untainted) which is why they are always playing the religious card and you like others fall for it. PDP is fighting a do or die battle to guarantee the looting does not stop and ensure this fearless man does not assume leadership of the country or else they are finished, because all those corrupt politicians who have put us in this mess will either go on exile of be behind bars no matter the person.
You need to read between the lines that why has PDP not used any other excuse like stealing, corruption etc against this man except misquote him and tagged him always on religious sentiments only???? Do not join the bandwagon but be independently minded.
This old man should go and rest. I laugh if you say this likes of Tinubu who is corruption himself will end corruption.

ReplyDelete@barak wendy: Credibility of a candidate is what matter, so if u believe Buhari is a good person and can deliver, i think there is no harm voting for him (Buhari). Let us give him (Buhari) a chance and see his patern of leadership.
