The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade has congratulated Governor Rauf Aregbesola on his re-election as the Governor of Osun state.

In a congratulatory message sent to the state Deputy Governor, Mrs Tomori the monarch Oba Sijuade assured Aregbesola of his co-operation during his second term in office.
He assured that despite the outcome of the election, there would be no violence in his domain and other parts of the state.

Similarly, the Speaker, Osun state House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salaam has on behalf of the state Parliament congratulated Governor Rauf Aregbesola on his re-election as the Governor of the state.
Hon Salaam also rejoiced with the people of Osun state on the victory of Aregbesola, describing the victory as that of the people.
He said “the good people of Osun state worked for Aregbesola’s victory for braving all odds to freely elect the man, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who throws himself into the good governance he was hired for.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Goke Butika, Salaam saluted the principled stance and doggedness of the electorate who he said credibly took their destinies into their hands when it mattered in the cloud of siege and unprovoked attack on their freedom.
The Speaker then thumbed up for the resolve of Ogbeni Aregbesola to serve the people when it was convenient to give excuses for non-performance, noting that his electoral victory was the appreciation of his passion to change the world for better than he met it from the masses.
He also urged the governor to continue with his passion for the development of the state, noting that whoever works for humanity would never be let down.
Salaam then appealed to the opposition to consider the electioneering and its attendant brickbat as history, asking them to join hands with the government and provide constructive engagement. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
