Nigerians on Wednesday took to social media to berate American billionaire/businessman, Donald Trump, over his comments calling on U.S. government to stop all flights from West African countries with Ebola outbreak.
Trump also protested the return of two Americans, Dr Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, to the United States where they are receiving treatment for the deadly virus at Emory University Hospital.
Trump, who is worth $3.9 billion, tweeted on Friday (Aug. 1) "Stop the EBOLA patients from entering the U.S.
"Treat them, at the highest level, over there. THE UNITED STATES HAS ENOUGH PROBLEMS.
"The U.S. cannot allow EBOLA infected people back. People that go to faraway places to help out are great – but must suffer the consequences!"
In reaction, Cool FM On-Air-Personality (OAP), Ifedayo Olarinde popularly called, Freeze, tweeted that Trump was very selfish.
Freeze also added that Trump's tweed just showed he was "a very ignorant man, who has just highlighted his shortcomings; educate yourself about West Africa. it's not all Ebola".
"Bill Gates who is worth 20 times more than you are spends his fortune on Africa while u alienate us," he tweeted.
He also added that "DonaldTrump is worse than Hitler who planned to use us Africans to test his weapons; Very insensitive old man. Heartless!".
Freeze tweeted further: "if your son were coming in from West Africa would you ask the U.S. government to stop flights from West Africa.''
However, a UK-Based Nigerian Comedian, Wale Gates, tweeted saying: "I kinda agree with Donald Trump, every country should protect its own first;
"Nigeria should have done it long ago. Its not time to be emotional.
"If the Nigerian government has decided not to protect its people Goodluck to them. But every other country has a right to protect its people from us." Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Why are we crucifying someone who is just being patriotic.You cannot expect him to act like some Nigerians who can denigrate their country. Some people because they are not in the country refers to Nigeria and Nigerians including calling Nigerians ants. Okey Ndibe's piece published on line is ones clear example and thank God His Grace Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah had addressed his unfortunate demeaning and shocking piece about his fatherland. Bishop Kukah addressed this while presenting his paper in a lecture as part of the activities marking Wole Soyinka's 80th birth day celebrations.Bishop Kukah's paper is titled "Wole Soyinka: 80 Years of Genius & Prophetic Outrage" . One need to read Okey Ndibe's piece titled" Something Really , Really Dangerous" to understand what it means to love one's country and to show some elements of patriotism even in the situations of some shortcomings in the country. .
ReplyDeleteThey should go Back to the Movie and watch Out break And World War Z.
