In her speech after her award an emotional Aduba said: “I’m stuffed. I’m beyond full. My cup runneth over right now. I feel absolutely all of those things: I feel full of joy, like a fountain. Mission accomplished.”
33-year-old Aduba, nominated alongside costars Natasha Lyonne and Laverne Cox, is considered a ‘guest’ in the series for the purpose of the Creative Arts Emmy. Aduba is of Nigerian ancestry but was born and raised in the U.S.
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards precedes the prime time show that will take place August 25, 2014.
