EBOLA VIRUS: Lagos State Government, FG visit Prophet T.B Joshua

The Lagos State Government and some federal delegates on Sunday paid a visit to the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Joshua.

The visit was said to be aimed at sensitising the church and its membership on the menace of the deadly Ebola virus.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, who led the delegation, said it was also to make sure that no victim of the virus came into the church from any of the affected countries.

Idris said, “We have our strategies that we intend to share with you. Again, we need to know the resources you have here because whether it is one or two cases, if they are allowed to get out, it is a major problem. We are here to work together on how to contain this disease.”

Idris said the delegation decided to pay the visit to the SCOAN because of the recognition that it was an international Christian centre whose congregation comprised people from all over the world, including the countries of the West African sub-Region which had already been infected by the Ebola disease.

The Director, Centre for Disease Control, Professor Abdulsalami Nasidi, added that the visit was also to inform the Synagogue leader of the deadliness of the Ebola Virus, and ensure that it did not escape into the country.

Prophet Joshua, in his reaction, promised to work with government.

One of such measures, he said, was to visit any of the countries, rather than allow their residents come into Nigeria.

He also promised to suspend some of his major Church healing programmes for a few weeks adding, “I am ready to work with you. I love my country and I will be ready to work with you. Even if it is a rumour, there is need to secure our environment to ensure that it is safe.”

  1. For d fact dat we believe in dis country dat there is God, I'm sure is a bold step nd I believe God will be merciful nd save us frm dis deadly desease. This's encouraging! Pro Josua is not d main focus but because we turned back 2 seek 4 God's intervention, I believe God will do it. First all churches nd mosgues nd every other institution of semiar gathergs should be sanitised, 2 be immigrants inflow, even if pro Josua travels out 2 visit his members out, what's d quarantee he wouldn't be inffected? The truth is; for everyone of us 2 seek for a divine intervention by prayg 4 God's mercy. I believe its more Spiritual than physical nd I know frm my age of experiece dat dis's nothg else but consequence of sin of disobedience; not reverencg of God nd pride, arrogance, cheag, lack of love nd total brake-down of peace nd confusion, innocent blood shed all-over d world. Let's look at d bk of pro Jeremiah:17;1-end, dat we may read nd understand, so we might obey nd turn back 2 God d almighty. Tnks

  2. It is good thr TB will not allow delegates from the countries infected with Ebola to visit his synagogue and suspends healing service but it is equally bad for him and his aids to visit those countries because he will bring the deadly desease to this countr

  3. This is nice development because people keep flocking to these self- styled tele- star pastors cum healers who claim to heal all sorts of ailment from AIDS to Down syndrome from all parts of West Africa. Naturally, Ebola victim patients will rush there too. in fact, the place should have been quarantined and all those there tested and put under surveillance for a period. This will establish whether the place has not been contaminated.

  5. When people really know who TB JOSHUA is, there will be less attack on his person or his ministry. Even 99.9% of those that claim they know him are just saying so because of what they see physically, only those who could see beyond the physical can categorically says they know him well. For those that may want to know, it might sound like a word from a lunatic, EBOLA or worse microbes can't do him nothing.
