2015: Only revolution can bring credible leaders, says Balarabe Musa

A former governor of the old Kaduna State and National Chairman of the deregistered Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Alhaji Balarabe Musa, has said the masses should prepare for a peaceful revolution for the 2015 general elections to be fair, free and credible.
The former governor said only such a revolution would bring the exemplary leaders the people deserve.
He noted that since the country’s political system had been hijacked by moneybags, the hope of the people getting credible leaders through their votes would remain a mirage.
Musa spoke in Kaduna at the weekend after meeting with members of the National Executive Committee of the party to find alternative political strategies, following its deregistration by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The former governor said PRP would continue to fight for the cause of the downtrodden.
He said: “I know Nigeria’s situation; it is impossible to have free, fair, credible and transparent elections leading to a democratic mandate. We need a revolution; we need a peaceful democratic revolution …to bring about the condition that will bring about free, fair, credible and transparent elections that will lead to legitimate leadership.
“Let us be objective. Elections today are decided by three factors: money power, incumbency and balance terror. That was how elections were decided in Ekiti and Osun states. The ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can do and undo with the people’s votes. So, a revolution is the answer, whether peaceful or otherwise.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

You are right Mallam, but how can there be a "peaceful" revolution when it comes to political revolution? Peaceful revolution can only apply to industrial or scientific revolutions, not politics where humans are engaged in power broking. I have never seen anywhere in the world where there had been a peaceful political revolution, because the money-bags will fight on to ensure they remain in control. The only other approach, which many will say 'no' to, will be for a purposeful military with the fear of God, to take over and over-haul the system just like Rawlings did for Ghana. This way, there will be less bloodshed.
ReplyDeleteGood one Yany.
DeleteHow do you do you expect military to overhaul the system just like the one carried out by Jerry Rawling of Ghana? It wouldn’t work because of some traitors.
Please note that there was a similar plot like this perhaps in 196... during a coup that brought Aguyi Ironsi in to power; the plot then was to kill all the political leaders. Sir Amadu Bello was killed as a prime minister of Nigeria, Sadauna of Sokoto was killed as a Northern governor, Akintola was killed as a Western governor, another governor was killed as a Midwestern governor then Awolowo was in prison at Calabar but what happened to Azikiwe as a president and Dr. Mich Opara as governor of eastern region? The fellow Ibo Army officer revealed the plot to the duo while they fled away and that was where the problem of ethnicity started in this country. So my brother I do not think revolution would work because there are saboteurs.
What ever you are doing be careful because history still remains the record of past events.
@Yani, You have taking the words out of my mouth. 2015 election will never be peaceful for four reasons:
ReplyDelete1. If Jonathan runs for re-election, the North will not accept and as such will do everything to discredit the election. (You hear this man saying peaceful political revolution....hmmm!)
2. If Jonathan by any chance wins, the North will tear Nigeria into pieces using their prodigal sons (BH) to create chaos.
3. If Jonathan loses to Buhari the South-South will not accept and the use of oil as leverage will take place. The North will go nut.
4. If Jonathan refuses to run and someone from the south was choosing to run against Buhari, the situation will not change because Jonathan is running.
So what are we left with? The inevitable situation as predicted by the US CIA. The possible chaos and ultimate division of Nigeria. Unfortunately lives will be lost before we come to that realization. I am hoping that leaders will come together before the country disintegrate and mutually agree to split up in peace. This marriage will not work.
THAT'S REALLY THE ANSWER; BUT WHO SHALL WE SEND AND WHO WILL GO FOR US.
ReplyDeleteWHERE ARE THE YOUTHS OF THE NIGERIAN STATE?
BOKO HARAM, WE NEED REVOLUTIONISTS AND NOT KIDNAPPERS AND ASSASSINS, PLS.
LORD HAVE MERCY.
