We’ve Developed New Strategies To End Boko Haram – COAS



The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Nigerian Air Force, Air Marshal Adeshola Amosun yesterday said the fight against insurgency and all forms of terrorism working against the peace of the country must be all inclusive.



This is just as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. General Kenneth Minimah disclosed that Nigerian Army has developed new strategies to contain the current security challenges confronting the nation and prepare the force to combat the future security challenges.

In his address as the reviewing officer at the Passing Out Parade (POP) of Direct Short Service (DSS) commission course 23/2014 cadet, held in the Nigeria Air Force base, Kaduna yesterday, Air Marshal Amosu said the Air force is sparing no efforts to rid Nigeria of the scourge of terrorism and insurgency and bequeath to the nation, the peace and stability needed for development and prosperity.

Air Marshal Amosu called on all Nigerians to join in the fight against insurgency saying Nigerians should build national cohesion that transcends primordial sentiments and rise above any interest that tends to tear the nation apart.

On his part, the COAS who was speaking at the Passing Out Parade (POP) of Direct Short Service Course 21/2013 in Jaji, also in Kaduna State yesterday said “in recent years, the atrocious activities of terrorists and sundry criminals in various parts of our nation have sounded a clarion call to duty that we must answer with great devotion and commitment.

To the newly commissioned officers, he said, “The challenges ahead are indeed enormous but surmountable with courage and determination. Already, we have developed and implemented new strategies not only to contain current threats but also to better prepare us to combat future security challenges”, he stated.

The Air Force Chief also charged the newly commissioned cadets on high standard of professionalism stressing that the military profession requires absolute loyalty, discipline, honesty and courage among other values.

According to him, “You must also bear in mind that to succeed in the military career which you have chosen, you must be hardworking, disciplined and dedicated to your duties.

“The Air force is a highly technical force that requires very skilled and mentally alert manpower to operate and maintain the sophisticated equipment in its inventory. The present leadership is highly committed to the enthronement of professionalism and purposeful training.

  1. Why would a soldier kill himself for nothing with estacode to show for it. Afterall if they had gone to ivory coast they would get estacode.
