The Congress of the Nigerian Football Federation on Saturday evening sacked the board of the Federation, led by the Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Maigari.
The congress, which held in Abuja, premised its decision on what it called “shortchanging ” of grassroots football development in taking its decision.
A High Court in Jos had during the week ruled that the Maigari-led board was illegal.
FIFA had on Friday warned that the court ruling and an alleged meddling in the federation matter by the Sport Ministry could fetch Nigeria an indefinite suspension from all football activities if such moves were not redressed by Tuesday.
It is believed that the board was sacked over the bonus row that attended the Super Eagles campaign at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where the Eagles were booted out of the competition in the second round on Wednesday by France.
