  14. Bold move. State creation in the past was a great catalyst for accelerated development in Nigeria. It gave rise to competition which led to the number of State universities and other educational institutions, airports, sundry physical and social infrastructures, etc, etc. Let the truth be told- these developments would not have been possible without such competition.

  15. Let the States be created. It is baffling to hear people discuss viability of States in Nigeria and basing their argument on oil and gas alone and leaving out other factors. Do they know that Singapore, one of the world's Centres of excellence in all departments of development, is not up to 800 sq. km with less than 6 million people. Do you think those Singaporeans are from the Mars. The structure they have, justice, fairness, lack of intrigues and manipulations breed for them good governance devoid of corruption. The National conference, in my mind, is in many of its resolutions trying to remove the heavy log that hold us down in this country.

  19. We shall keep creating states in Nigeria. We shall get to 100 states and still clamor for more states! The clamor for more states defies reason in a country where the existing ones are nearly all dependent on the centre for sustainance

  22. The past military regimes created the problem. The states and LGAs created by them were geared towards putting a section of the country, particularly the North-west, at advantage. It is easy to start a crisis but difficult to manage same. Remove the States and LGAs from the constitution and stop using them as part of the criteria for resource allocation and see whether the agitation for States/LGAs will stop or not. We hate to call a sped a sped. If this country disintegrates today, the Military is to blame.

  23. There was a family of six with one as bread winner. It was as if the rest could not survive without the bread winner.Suddenly the bread winner died and guess what, the rest woke up and not only survived but were able to stabilize themselves and made unexpected progress in life because of their inherent potentials. Let the oil dry up today and you will see how fast the States will readjust. Every State in Nigeria is more viable than most African countries.

  27. Hahahaahah jonsing govt. I don see how una wisdom reach. You are busy creating more states instead of finding a way 2 solve the problem @hand. Creating state is not the problem of this country, what we need is enhancement of security - how can this be achieved? Go into the military department & screen out those ones that are not nigerians they are the ones causing all this wahala we are having. That's why when an order is been given to block boundaries that's when the boundary becomes more loose because those Niger, chad, etc that are in our military are sabotaging against us. They'll go & tell their people what we are about 2 do & thereby finding another 2 strike. This is the BOKO HARAMS are coming into Nigeria. Tackle this section very well & not creating states. State my foot. Mr. President use the eyes of a matured man & look into the bag of a matured man, you see there is no smoke without fire. I don talk my own. Dem go come carry one Nigeria de spoil things, de kill innocent souls. Get out!

  30. Those who consider it strange for Afikpo to be in Etiti State are most probably dropping from the moon and are therefore entitled to such idle talks as 3hrs drive, being too far, etc. Those who also claim that Afikpo has a closer affinity or for that matter any affinity atall to Abakaliki people are also most likely to fall into the category of MY MAMA TOLD ME WE ARE FROM AFIKPO. I advise them to trace their root for I am almost certain they cannot come from that part of the globe. Otherwise they should tell the world WHERE OKPAA, LUGULU, OGO, OBU, OTAAKPO, NJENJE etc are found in Onueke, Ezaa, Ezaamgbo, etc. The truth is that Afikpo is either Abia or Etiti, no more and no less. It takes about 15 minutes to travel from Afikpo to Afikpo road ( included in Etiti), about 30 to 35 minutes to Okigwe ( included in Etiti), 20 to 25 minutes to Isikwuato ( included in Etiti), about 1hr 15 mins to Ehime Mbano, the probable longest distance in the state from Afikpo. For me , it is always the will of God that will prevail in the end. I can assure who ever that cares to know that THE PEOPLE of Afikpo, 99.5% of the popululation, are praying that God should deliver them from the bondage in which they have found themselves. Afikpo for Etiti, oh God.
