Fayose distributes 14,000 bags of rice to Muslims

Ekiti State Governor-elect, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has distributed no fewer than 14,500 branded 5kg bags of rice to Muslim faithfuls across the state.

Fayose, who distributed some of the rice at Ado Ekiti Central Mosque and Ansarudeen Central Mosque said the gesture was in the spirit of Ramadan.

Speaking through the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr. Olusola Eleka, he said the bags of rice would be distributed simultaneously across the 16 local government areas in the state.

Elega said, "You know the Governor-elect is a man of the people and he so much has the love of the people at heart.

"He is doing this to demonstrate his love for the people and to identify with them especially during this season of Ramadan."

Elega who appreciated the people for their massive vote for the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate assured that the incoming government would deliver on the promises made during the campaign.

He urged Muslims in the state to use the opportunity of the month to pray for the country and Ekiti state.

According to him, the peace being experienced in the state is as a result of the prayers of both Muslim and Christians.

"The governor-elect appreciates your prayers for him, this state and the country at large and I urge you not to relent especially now that a new government is on the way," he said.

Elega pleaded for harmonious relationship among all religious groups saying without peace, no useful development could take place.

He assured that Muslims in the state would not relent in their prayers for the state.

  1. This type of behaviors should be aggressively discouraged and investigated.
This is why the country is going down the toilet. Why on earth should our people still be so naive in 2014.
They are selling out their birth-right and these Politicians have thrown all caution into the wind.

  4. You guys should leave Fayose alone, why is APC crying foul, do you know during the time of Governor Fashola's campaign, they came to bribe me with N500 and Indomie here in Lagos, but I refused while my neigbours' collected it, forget about these politicians they are all in this game, that is politics for you, if Fayose uses his own strategies to win the election, let APC zero their mind and accept their faith and stop crying foul!
