The Department of State Security has denied arresting a former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili.
Media reports had it that the leading member of the BringBackOurGirls campaign was arrested, quizzed and released.
But the Director-General of the DSS, Mr, Ita Ekpeyong, told State House correspondents on Monday that there was no truth in the report.
Ekpeyong said the former minister was currently in London and there was no way she could have been arrested.
“Did she tell you she was arrested? Did you see her? She is currently in London and that shows you that she was not arrested. We did not arrest her,” he declared.
Ezakwesili alleged that her travelling passport was seized but was later released for her to continue on her journey to the UK. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteIdiot commentators!!!, agents of evil
ReplyDeleteMy take on this,I don't think that's the best way to go about it, madam oby might had her own short comings bt if true she was detained by SSS then its unfair and not right for the nascent democracy.
ReplyDeleteWe need to put personal hatred aside when considering issues and you people needs to know that anybody that probably had erred before posses the ability to retrace his/her steps and do the right thing so please let's stop condemning based on past deeds.
People can change for good at least Peter from the Bible did.

I see nothing wrong in taking a former minister for questioning if theyhave a reason to do so. The Government should not be afraid to admit if the detained her, found nothing incriminating and released her. Bring back our girls has not made her a sacred cow. Does it?
ReplyDeleteWell spoken, government has the right to detain her for questioning if so then why deny the arrest?
ReplyDeleteSomething is wrong here!
