The days appear numbered for Chelsea’s midfielder Mikel Obi as the London club dropped the Nigerian from their pre-season European playing tour.
Checks on the Chelsea website showed that the Stamford Bridge team left London on Monday for Austria with the Nigerian’s name missing from the list of players that flew to Vienna. The Nigerian has been on the radar of some Europeans teams since the last stages of the 2013/14 season with Italian teams Inter Milan and AC Milan as the major teams that showed interest.
On the Chelsea list for the tour are former Atletico Madrid star, Diego Costa; former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Brazilian Filipe Luis. The 26-man squad will partake in the two-week European training camp.
John Terry, Gary Cahill, Fernando Torres and Petr Cech are staying on with the English side as they made the trip. There were also Matej Delac, Mitchell Beeney, Mark Schwarzer, Branislav Ivanovic, Oriol Romeu, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Nathan Ake, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marco van Ginkel, Nemanja Matic, Nathaniel Chalobah and Mohamed Salah.
Jeremie Boga, Lewis Baker, John Swift, Patrick Bamford, Dominic Solanke and Isaiah Brown were also named.
The tour will take them across to Slovenia where they face Olimpija Ljubljana on Sunday, before the Jose Mourinho army take on Vitesse Arnhem and Werder Bremen, in The Netherlands and Germany respectively. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Dont pass wrong information to the public, Chelsea FC didnt drop him. He is part of the team that qualified for 2nd round in the world cup. The remaining people are either didnt go to the world cup or did not qualify for the 2nd round. The likes of Oscar, Hazard, Ramires Willian and co are yet to resume. Does that mean the club dropped them too.
ReplyDeleteMikel Sunshine can manage you at least. If you allow me to be you manager I will facilitate the deal. Lazy no10,see what you have done to your career when you are supposed to beat the top of you game. You are uninspiring, lazy, cannot tackle, cannot initiate attack, back pass master and lacks the spines required of a no 10 players. Now all those sentimental Chelsea fans hailing you will now change and start supporting. Sunshine of Akure when the deal succeeds. This is an eye opener to any other Nigerian players who delude himself that he had arrived and therefore will not give their 100% The big boys! Omo olowo! He does not want to get injury bla bla blah! That is Chelsea fan for you.Now let him continue to save his legs if Sunshine decides. to manage him.sugbo!
