Tickets for Nigeria/Argentina match in hot demand

Tickets for the last Group F match between Nigeria and Argentina on Wednesday at Porto Alegre, at the ongoing 2014 World Cup in Brasil are now in hot demand a day to the encounter.

The tickets for every match in the competition had been sold long ago, those who had bought them in large quantities are now smiling to their banks.

The tickets which were officially sold for 90 dollars now cost 150 dollars with Nigerians in Brazil, especially rushing for them.

“This match is crucial because it will determine Nigeria’s qualification to the round of 16 in the competition,’’ a Nigerian football fan, Abdul Oliseh told NAN.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) has vowed to storm the stadium in spite of the hardship they encountered from the previous two group matches.

The President-General of the club, Dr Rafiu Oladipo, said that his members would be in the venue in large numbers.

“We are not going to be discouraged by either FIFA or the Local Organising Committee of the competition not to do our usual national service.

“Besides, this match is most crucial because it will determine our faith in the competition.

“We need an outright victory against Argentina in the competition to consolidate our chances for the second round,’’ Oladipo said.

It will be recalled that the Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, had during the first match against Iran on June 16 at Curitiba, complained of the absence of the club.

Enyeama had said that the absence of the club at the stadium, without their drumming, singing and trumpeting had made the Eagles feel like playing in an empty stadium.

NAN reports that Nigeria is currently second in Group F and a win over Argentina will consolidate its qualification for the round of 16. (NAN)
