Some Nigerian governors should be probed for sponsoring terorism - CAN

Christian Association of Nigeria on Monday said it suspected that some governors could be sponsoring terrorist activities in Nigeria.

The association in a communique at the end of a meeting of its North Central zone, which comprises seven states including the Federal Capital Territory, called on the Federal Government to investigate some sitting governors over the activities of Boko Haram insurgents and Fulani herdsmen in the country.

The communique, read by the zonal Chairman, Rev Yakubu Pam, said, “The Federal Government should thoroughly investigate some sitting governors who speak in favour of the insurgents as they may be sponsors of the Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen.”

While decrying the loss of innocent lives and properties as a result of the sect’s activities, CAN said the wickedness should not be allowed to continue under any guise.

The association expressed regrets that the issue of compensation for affected victims and churches of the 2011 post-election violence, bomb blasts and ethnic crisis has not been handled with probity.

It urged government to investigate allocations and disbursement as well as look into the cases of those who had not been compensated at all.

  2. I personal suspect can and the presidency to be the “real“ boko haram, terorizing the North and other part of the country in disguise. How i wish the security agents will have the courage to investigate them.

  3. Since CAN knows these governors, what are they waiting for? Is it only churches and christians that were affected? Why has CAN been silent or do I say Mr. Oritsejafor because not all the christians reason like Mr. Oritsejafor when muslims were attacked some years back on eid praying ground in jos? Please always act in a matured and civilised manner when handling sensitive issues that affects virtually everyone in the country. We were all here when Pastor Adeboye carried out and called on his church members to fast and pray for a hundred days for God's intervention but you that is an empty vessel is here as usual. Even respecte christians like Rev. Kukah, Onaiekan and the likes of them are not thinking towards your angle, I wonder what CAN is still doing with the likes of Ayo.
