The Sokoto State Government said on Friday that it had earmarked N175 million for Ramadan feeding programme
The Commissioner of Religious Affairs in the state, Alhaji Tukur Alkali, disclosed this in an interview in Sokoto.
He said 84 feeding centres had been created across the state to ensure smooth conduct of the annual event.
He said the state government had also set up a committee to monitor the conduct of the exercise.
Alkali urged people of the state to reciprocate the gesture by praying for God’s intervention in the socio-economic and political development of the state.

Sokoto, there are no roads,no hospitals, no schools and yet you spend millions feeding people because it is ramadan. Is the Fed. Govt. Grant really meant for that? Are there no Christians in Sokoto? Why is it that no news about their welfare was heard for once?

ReplyDeleteLolz@anony6.29.......anony10.14 spoke very well from d outset...he only spoilt it with d religious dimensiom....as for me, its still part of d brainwashed and poverty stricken system we live in which is worse ....I mean worse in d north....how come some such is not being done in Lagos/ogun state, after all we are muslims here too (in most probably balanced proportions with christians)......imagine if u used such monies to better d lives of d citizenry in terms of healthcare facilities and job creation, who would join boko haram???.....how come d northerners in lagds are not part of boko haram.....that's simply bcos lagos state has given them a far better life (in terms of comparative analysis) than that sokoto state crap......no wonder northerners are still backward despite d fact that they have d richest men in Nigeria.....
