The Super Eagles departed Campinas for Curitiba on Saturday morning where the team will play their opening game of the World Cup against Asian representatives, Iran. Campinas is the base city of the Nigerian team.
On Monday, they face an Iranian team managed by a former Manchester United and Bafana Bafana of South Africa coach, Carlos Quiroz.
Before they embarked on the journey, Eagles captain Joseph Yobo, for the umpteenth time, assured Nigerians that the team will not disappoint them at the tournament. He called for prayers and positive attitude from all Nigerians.
Last week, coach Stephen Keshi also asked Nigerians to pray for the team as a mark of their support in the competition.
He wants the fans of the team to send in their prayers via Twitter.
“One day to go. Support us with your prayers,” he wrote.
Eagles will start their World Cup campaign on June 16 against Iran in Curitiba. They will afterwards play against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Argentina for the Group F first round matches.

ReplyDeletePraya ko, praya ni. Common make una work and work hard too. This is not the time for prayer, this is time for work. What if god was on leave at the time you are praying to him? Heaven helps those who help themselves.
