Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has said that the All Progressives Congress lost the Ekiti State governorship polls due to fraud but maintained that it was impossible to rig him out in the August 9, 2014 governorship election in Osun.
The governor spoke in Ikirun on Tuesday during the continuation of his campaign which was held in the town.
Aregbesola, who was obviously excited by the large turnout of his supporters at the campaign, said that it was impossible to oust him from power in Osun State because he still enjoyed the support of the masses.
The candidate of the APC, who spoke in Yoruba language, urged the people of the state to vote and protect their votes from being manipulated.
He said, “They perpetrated fraud in Ekiti but we are looking at them. They said that my days in office remain 43 days and I just laughed. What they did in Ekiti is not possible here in Osun. Osun is different and they know it. In 2011, all Yoruba states voted for Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate but Osun people voted for Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who was the Action Congress of Nigeria candidate. We are different in Osun. Don’t let them scare you.
“The people here today have shown that they are solidly behind us. We are not angry about the development in Ekiti State because it is part of democracy. Ekiti people have made their choice.”
The governor said that he and his people did not have any problem with law enforcement agents who discharged their duties accordingly.
He, however, said that any of them who decided to go outside their bond would not find it easy.
Speaking on the rumoured plan to sack civil servants, Aregbesola described it as the handiwork of the opposition.
He debunked the rumour saying his administration had not sacked any worker since he assumed power in November 2006, saying he could not embark on such now.
The Director General of the Aregbesola Campaign Organisation, Senator Sola Adeyeye, urged the people of the state to vote wisely by casting their votes for Aregbesola.
He said that those who killed Chief Bola Ige were around the corner seeking to hijack power in the state. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Ekiti people has made their choice yet it was fraudulent. Contradition! It is your brother that killed Bola Ige. Talk to him directly.
ReplyDeleteAregbesola the fraudulent governor cannot come to terms with a massive defeat that even the candidate who lost has congratulated the winner. That is the mind of a loser on his way out. Aregbesola did not win any election in Osun but was appointed by Ayo Salami through an induced court judgment. He has been disorganizing the state since then. Pitting Christians against Muslims and turning an otherwise peaceful state to a violent state overnight. Now he has continued his lies by saying his administration started in November 2006 whereas Salami awarded him the seat in November 2010. Someone who said an election was rigged said in the same statement that Ekiti people have made their choice, is that not an indication of a confused state of mind?
ReplyDeleteAregbesola is obviously confused and panicked, why waste your precious time on a man that brought religious war to osun state.
DeleteHave. U been in Osun now the changes in osun is incomparable with elitist. Besides you people should know that b4 ekiti will be like Osun is going to take 25years
DeleteOgbeni make you no too fear! The only thing is that you should start parking gradually because this time around no body will have the chance to foist anybody on anybody. The hand writing is very clear. Tinubu and his cronies should go back to Lagos. The people in the South - West are tired of Tinubu's political hegemony and iron grip on this zone. They are tired of Politics of the "NURTW election violence', "Rig and roast" or the "Dog and the baboon being soaked in blood". This is rightly so because a zone that boasts of the greatest number of intellectuals and young vibrant politicians cannot allow it self to be turned in one man political property this 21st century. Ogeni no need to cry more than the bereaved. Fayemi has conceded defeat. So, I prophesy that the next state to fall is Osun Sobrahamakatokaya!!
ReplyDeleteThe people of Ekiti have spoken through their vote and it was glaring that people voted for their man, Fayose, period. It will be fool hardy for anyone to think otherwise. Commentators should learn respect individual opinion, the one expressed by the Executive Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Aregbesola cannot be exceptional. The certainty is that Osun people will also speak come August 2014. God save Nigeria and Nigerian.
ReplyDeleteOgbeni Aregbesola, you are a grassroot politician, so i am not expecting you to say such a statement about Ekiti state, we unanimously voted our choice, i expect you to respect that. if your people feels you are good for them, they will bring you back otherwise, sorry. all i know is, people are becoming wiser now and so the politics of i will do this, i will do that may not work unless you tell us how you want to do them.
ReplyDeleteGovernor who ask you? the people involved are ok with the election, why are you drinking panadol for another man headache?
ReplyDeleteOgbeni, is it because APC did not win. You are not current and you are not refined. Dr. Fayemi, the man concerned has spoken as an enlightened and educated man. After Fayemi had congratulated Fayose, what type of statement is that from Ogbeni. After your defeat on August 9 in Osun 2014 election, Ogbeni will be arrested for instigating people against justice. The earlier you start packing, the better. Packing to where, to prison. For what, for unprecedented misdeeds of Aregbesola and his APC men in Osun. Aregbesola moving out for Akinwusi to come in. Sure and certain!
