The unending carnage by the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, continued on Monday night as suspected members of the group raided Tohya and Wurojene villages in Chibok Local Government killing five persons.
As has become the tradition of the sect in recent times, the gunmen, who stormed the two villages, also looted the villagers’ store, carting away their foodstuffs and livestock.
Some villagers told our correspondent on Tuesday that the gunmen equally destroyed or razed houses where they did not meet the occupants, who might have fled the buildings before the assailants arrived in the area.
The attacks on the two villages, located within a radius of less than 15 kilimetres from Chibok, were said to have occurred around 10pm on Monday.
The military has yet to confirm the attack in an area where about 276 girls of the Government Secondary School were abducted on April 14.
No fewer than 200 of the schoolgirls are still being held by the terrorists, which also raided another village in the area on Saturday and abducted about 30 Fulani women. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
