Early on Sunday morning, members of the All Progressives Congress led by some of their leaders including the Governor Kayode Fayemi were out on some form of campaign when they were allegedly attacked.
Residents say they heard gun shots, but details on the cause of the violence may still be sketchy at this time. Police men in the state are said to be around at the scene, while a Channels TV staff at the scene got injured in the process of the skirmish.
Hon. Oyetunde Ojo from the House Of Representatives and Senator Ojudu were also at the scene.
The state government has called for the immediate transfer of the commissioner of police Ekiti state command, Felix Uyanna and the O.C MOPOL.
Addressing journalists in Ado Ekiti, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Ekiti State, Jide Awe said for the interest of peace in the forthcoming governorship election, the president must intervene fast.

ReplyDeleteIt is now clear dat wherever APC has no chance of winning an election in naija is wen day ask d president to remove either d commissioner of police or d resident electoral officer,dey(APC)always cause trouble and invite police to intervene so dat dey ll luk innocent,ur ways are not pure at all,APC should point to a major developmental project embarked upon in ekiti for d past 3 1/2 yes in power in ekiti if not for duplication of projects like :new street light,overlay of ado township road,renovation of fajuyi park,new govt/gov office,merger of state own skuls,etc,since dey assumed office,skul fees has gone up to 150k,no bursary,no SUG,turned skuls to boarding house and ask for PTA meeting,improved Ado/ifaki road from 6.7b to 13.5b and yet d road is yet to be completed,from 5th position in WAEC to 34th position,dere is nothing like 'Ejo bus' in UNAD,teachers now write exams like Edo to get dere long awaited promotions,no pension paid,no minimum wage of 18,000 paid,turned Odua Textile factory to lock up shops,street light is being rotated on daily basis and powered by Generator:wasting money on diesel,speb and subeb are no more working,we now pay for hospital bed per night unlike before dat was FOC;ask Segun Oni,no powerful udiroko day in Ado again,Dallimore road is out of it,unable to complete a single round about embarked upon since 2010,no maintanance of existing round about.

I didn't write last section exams cos ur FC said is nt accepting half of payment, now that you are campaning, you are telling us to go n pay any amount we have. ReplyDeletewell am happy about all the comments am reading, this shows my Ekiti are now wiser, my people can no longer afford school fees, south west people are the most educated people but now that the so called APC wont let us go to school because of fee hike, should we fold our hands and accepts to be illitrates? My people, you know who to vote out and who to vote in, use your vote wisely!
ReplyDeleteI think it is high time people decide who gorvern them. But in the first place why will APC go ahead and sweep the PDP leg? Even on sunday, that afirm that APC is non-christian party, Does the sweeping mean that ekiti state belong to APC? We don't need this type of agressive opposition from APC. It is time for the masses to rise and say what they want.
