APC leaders’ arrests illegal — Falana

Yesterday APC raised the alarm that no fewer than 25 APC leaders in Ekiti State were arrested by security operatives during the governorship election.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who is from Ekiti State, alleged that the arrests were made to prevent the party leaders from monitoring the election.

Falana said, "What is a peaceful election, if you have over 36, 000 security operatives?

"Also, are you aware that some arrests have been made now? Not less than 25 have been arrested now, eight of them in Ado, including Charles Fasugba and others.

"In Igbonyin, its one Elder Awojolu. In Ilawe, two have been arrested.

That is what is going on and these are all APC people.

"If they (Police) say no, quote me that I said in Ilawe, one PDP member in a police vehicle pointed at the two people (allegedly arrested) and that is what is going on in other places. The man arrested in Igbonyin has been taken to Ikere Police Station now — a seventy-something to 80-year-old man."

  1. presidency just show its power there. they are indirectly saying they can stop any form of insecurity if not because they need the blood. they can stop any aeroplane moving in and out of Nigeria and even within. and for those us that are expecting free, fair, transparent and credible election in Nigeria should forget it because GEJ will not win under free, fair transparent and credible election and He has decided to remain there at all cost. what Nigerians should be careful about is that GEJ want be the last or the longest served president of one Nigeria and his body language showing he is working towards that.

  2. If you don't have any reasonable thing to contribute, why don't you seal your mouth. Was it legal for APC to kill people at Erinjiyan and Emure. Were you dead then? Let stupid people keep their mouths shut

  4. The Problem is not Goodluck. Since the north has shown that it cannot let others rule peacefully, what then happens when they eventually hold power even if its in 2019 after Goodluck. The Southern peoples need to truelly consider their options going forward. If anything is to be done it is now!

  5. Basket Mouth. You have totally lost my respect. You have become so blind folded by your tribal cum political sentiments that all your utterances in recent times are to say the least bizarre and very unfortunate.
