The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State on Sunday raised the alarm that the police attacked the convoy of Governor Kayode Fayemi in the Ijigbo area of Ado-Ekiti.
The state’s Chairman, Chief Olajide Awe, said the attack came after members of the APC were ambushed by the police when they were returning from a peaceful rally in Olukayode Fayemi Stadium, Ado Ekiti.
Addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti, Awe, who claimed that an unnamed member of the ruling party was killed by the police, described the incident as “worrisome”.
In his reaction, the State’s Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Makanjuola Ogundipe, claimed that it was Fayemi that led APC thugs to cause trouble in the town.
He said, “A situation where the Chief Security Officer of the state is the law breaker calls for serious concerns.”
He added that a commercial motorcycle rider, otherwise known as okada, was attacked and maimed by the APC thugs.
The State Police Command had yet to respond to the allegation. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
