'Meet me on the battle field, i dare you!' - Asari Dokubo to Boko Haram leader, Abu Shekau

The leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, has dared Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, to be prepared to meet him on the battle field.

Asari-Dokubo, who dismissed the threat by the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, against President Goodluck Jonathan, warned that 2015 would be “more than do-or-die.”

The Niger Delta region former fighter, who spoke Thursday night during a strategic partnership session with former militant leaders organised by the Niger Delta Development Commission, recalled how Shekau threatened that the violent Islamic sect would soon come for President Jonathan.

Asari-Dokubo cautioned that the people of Niger Delta would not be deterred by any threat to them or President Jonathan and added that the 2015 election remained a challenge to the survival of the people of the region.

Boko Haram leader, Abu Shekau
He said, “They are starting oo! Shekau (Boko Haram leader) said in his video that we should not play with them. He said ‘Goodluck, I am coming for you. Niger Delta, we are coming for you.’ Are we going to allow them? They will shoot the guns; throw the bombs and that is when we will dance.

“2015 is more than do-or-die. It is our very survival that is being challenged; it is our very existence that is being challenged and we must tell them; you are a man and I am a man, we are going to meet at the battlefield. Be prepared, be watchful. The enemies should not be allowed. In this region, there will be only one vote.”

Asari-Dokubo also dismissed the call by the North for the scrapping of NDDC and the reduction of 13 percent derivation to five percent, adding that such call from the North will be ignored.

According to him, “The people from the North have said that NDDC should be scrapped. They said 13 percent derivation should be reduced to five percent and that nobody owns oil.

“We have to gather again and tell them (North) that they dare not do it (scrap NDDC and reduce derivation). If they (North) try it now, they will see it. It is because our brother is the President; that is why we are hanging it (peaceful).”

Calling on the NDDC to empower the people of the Niger Delta region, Asari-Dokubo lamented a situation where huge contracts were awarded to non-Niger Delta indigenes without consideration for the people of the region.

    1. Yes I totally agree with u. Seperation is the best option for now or never. Christians and Moslems are seriously at war over supremacy and power tussle. dividing the country is our only best option or we all prepare to die! because as for me I WILL NEVER BE ISLAMIZED, over my dead body, and I rather die and I MEAN IT!

  5. Shut up already. Empty barrrel. Go to Sambisa forest and willingly turn yourself to minced meat. You are one of the most corrupt niger deltan. The moment the government stop your contracts, you start to throw tantrums like a child whose candy was taking away, once your candy is giving back to you, you start to sing praises. There are enough problems to deal with than this fat miscreant coming out to make empty threats. He is just craving for attention. Asari is very corrupt. Someone that should be in jail.

  8. I am still of the believe that we should be allow to separate. Peace is not coming very soon. Asari Dokubo has said it. They arr hanging it (peacefully) because their brother (Jonathan) is the president. If Jonathan looses in 2015, their will be trouble chaos again in the Niger Delta. Can someone pls tell us what we are still doing together? Let us form a confederation.

    1. The evil people that are enjoying free oil money are the ones that wont let Nigeria divide. Niger deltans have made their investigations and found out that 95% of the oil wells are owned by the northerners of which the oil is in the south south! The northerners wont let the country divide because they will lose their oil wells in the niger delta. The niger delta wants resource control of the oil which is in their land. Seperation to me is still our best option!

  10. This barking Dog has been released again! Even the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces of Nigeria who happens to be your tribe's man couldn't stop another bomb from going off in Abuja, what are you now capable of? Please don't allow your reckless comments bring more harm to innocent lives please. And tell your brother if he can't manage the situation, he should simply step down for more capable hands. Presidency is not the birthright of any one or region and must not be a do or die affair. If he's stepping down is the sacrifice needed to bring peace back to this country, so be it. He'll surely not be the first President to step down. A Prime Minister just did that in South Korea eventhough he's not directly responsible for the death of many innocent students in the ship's disaster. Goodluck has brought nothing but Badluck to this country - He should please leave before every life is wasted and thus have no one to Preside over any longer! I rest my case.

    1. You a foolish to say that. If the north forces Jonathan to step down,Nigeria may never know peace anymore. The presidency is no ones birthright and does not belong to d north. Anybody who challenges Boko Haram to war & they accept will surely get my support. I will go to near with them.

  20. I am sure that shekau is just boasting of attacking GEJ and Niger delta, because the moment the bomb blast is heard in any part of the Southern Nigeria, a big riot starts from there and no northerner will be spared. When the militants in Niger Delta were operating, they did not go to disturb the north, you can be killing yourselves there in north, don't try to come to south because you wont withstand the reprisal

  24. If the boko haram likes let them bomb all parts of the north including Abuja ,it is their region but you will be thought this madness very well when you try it in any place in the South because our own will be house to house in the north .No amount of boko haram or any form of nonsense will make GEJ to step down . The last civil war makes the north to feel that they are the Elephants in Nigeria but remember that without other tribes the Igbo people would have defeated you . In the last civil war the Igbo people were the targets but if such happens again we don`t know yet who should be targeted .

If u r hopin fr d breakway of Naija,u will grow grey hair cos. No weapon(plan) formed against Nigeria shall prosper!

  27. One on one, looking at the two fool's picture. I see Asari with his pot belle and a billionaire in a cute mansion as no near match to already dead Shekau. Comon fools, BH are ready to die, who wants to die in south south. I am sure the population of BH fools is more than the entire bayelsa state. Let's pray for peace in this hell we call a nation.

  28. Anybody that thinks Goodluck should step down is a big mistake to the Nigerian project .... Were on earth do criminals dictate . This is not a time for sentiment. Asari or whoever wants to face the BH should be supported because our security operatives are failing us. The Nigerian army has been infilterated with BH informants and that is why its difficult fishing them out. As a matter of fact, security has gone beyond what our forces have to offer .... When the Niger delta guys were fighting, they fought for a cause. What are this ishmaelites/religious biggots/marauders fighting for ??? Whoever is ready to fight for us should be supported . If you are not part of the solution, you must be part of the problem
