Fire guts Lagos Mosque

A Mosque at Marina car park on Lagos Island popularly known as Idera Oluwa mosque has been razed by fire.
The incident occurred on May 2 at about 1.30am, burning properties worth millions of naira.
NE gathered that the Imam of the mosque, Mudashiru Folorunsho and other worshipper were praying when the incident occurred.
An eyewitness, Ismail Ahmed, who was in the mosque when the fire started, said it was caused by an electrical spark from one of the power points.
He said the incident was immediately reported at the Lion building Police station and operatives raced to the scene to quell the inferno.
The state police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), confirmed the incident.
She said, “On May 2 about 0200hours, fire gutted Idera Oluwa Mosque Marina Car Park, Lagos. The fire was put out by policemen and fire fighters mobilized to the scene.
