The Nigerian first lady, Patience Jonathan, on Tuesday encouraged women to continue praying for the rescue of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.
The girls were kidnapped by the Boko Haram from the Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State on April 14.
Mrs. Jonathan was represented by the National Coordinator, Women for Change and Development Initiative, WCDI, Rabi Ibrahim, at the end of a seven-day National Prayer and Fasting organized by the organization.
“Although we have ended the seven days national prayer, please go to your homes and continue to pray for our nation and the safe return of the Chibok girls,” Mrs. Jonathan said.
The first lady noted that the week-long prayer sessions, which commenced on May 14, had attracted women groups, Moslem and Christian organizations, as well as women from all walks of life.
She said that the prayer and fasting is part of the first lady’s initiative to seek God’s divine intervention for the nation.
She also said that the women have been supporting Nigeria and the missing girls with prayer and fasting; noting that in moment of challenges, ‘the power of prayer is most crucial’.
She encouraged Nigerian women to be cautious to avoid division along religious or ethnic lines, maintaining that goodness and progress does not have religious or ethnic barriers. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

The prayer of a sinner is an abomination to the Lord. Your prayers moves nowhere because your guys in Aso Rock all sinners. You have alters that you worship so God cannot and would never answer your prayers until you acknowledge Him that He is God of all flesh.
