Chibok girls: Kano Christian women protest

Hundreds of Christian women under the auspices of Kano State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, yesterday, staged a peaceful protest in Kano over the abduction of over 200 school girls by Boko Haram at Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State on April 14.
The women also prayed for a divine intervention on the release of the innocent school girls from their abductors.
The protesters wailed as they carried placards with various inscriptions: ''Chibok girls are innocent release them; We want our girls back; listen to women's voice; We will continue to be in pain until they were released; and what were the offences of the Chibok girls?,'' among others.
The women criss- crossed several streets in Kano as they condemned the abduction and asked the Boko Haram terrorists to stop persecuting the innocent girls for no just cause.
