Adamu Attah, first Kwara civilian Governor dies

The first civilian Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Adamu Atah is dead.
He was said to have died at Abuja on Thursday.
Our correspondent gathered that he could be buried today according to islamic rites.
It was also learnt that a Kogi State Government’s delegation led by the deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi had gone to Abuja to convey the remains from Abuja to Kogi State where he is expected to be buried.
In his reaction, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment, Dr. Bukola Saraki said the death of the octogenarian was very sad.
Saraki who was a governor of Kwara State for eight years described Atah as a statesman of repute, and a stakeholder in the Nigeria project whose records and antecedent are clear in the history of Kwara and Nigerian politics.
“Though gone, the impact of Alhaji Adamu Atah cannot be under estimated in Kwara politics and apparently, his role and contributions in the administration of Kwara State.
