Telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria, has disowned a text message credited to it and sent to mobile phone users.
The message, purportedly sent from MTN, promised to supply subscribers hourly updates on the bomb blast at the Nyanya Motor Park in Abuja, which has left no fewer than 89 people dead and 121 others injured.
In a statement disowning the message by the Public Relations and Protocol Manager, MTN, Mr. Funso Aina, on Wednesday, the firm said, “For the avoidance of doubt, MTN has not created any special package for customers to stay up to date on information related to the attack.
“Like all Nigerians, we are deeply saddened by the tragic bomb attack and commiserate with all those affected.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
