About 1,000 Nigerians today stormed the gate of the National Assembly, protesting government complacency in securing the release of more than 200 female pupils of Federal Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.
Led by erstwhile Minister of Education, Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili, the protesters converged on the Unity Fountain for the protest, which they tagged Rescue for Chibok Girls.
At the start of the rally, Ezekwesili addressed the crowd, urging them to be unrelenting in their determination to pressure the Federal Government into taking bolder steps to secure the release of the girls. They then defied the rains to march to the National Assembly to express their grievances to the country’s lawmakers.

ReplyDeleteOby Ezekwesili, you are unlike Dezane Madueke, Okonjo Iweala, former Aviation minister etc. I proud of you. Many Nigerians don't appreciate you or realize your importance. You are a gift to this country which I hope Nigerians will understand on time but not until you are no longer strong and vibrant or to have died before your values and importance are realized.
ReplyDeleteI pray your case will not be like the one of Obafemi Awolowo that was rated as the best president which Nigeria never had.
Please, Oby keep it up. I have said it countless times, and I wish to repeat it that history still remains a record of past events. Generations to generations; Children upon children shall talk about all that are happening or that had happened. Let federal govt/PDP keep toying on the precious lives of Nigerians.
Can't stop crying here in Canada. Please God help the helpless girls because our government cannot help them. Destroy anyone that wants to harm those girls please Lord
