Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda has sacked the Secretary to the State Government, Barister Ahmed Ibrahim Dandija and the Chief of Staff Government House, Alhaji Musa Gumli in a major cabinet reshuffle.
Alhaji Aminu Hammayo who is currently the Commissioner of Lands and Survey has been appointed as the new SSG.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary for the Governor, Ishola Michael Adeyemi and made available to newsmen yesterday in Bauchi indicated that the appointment was with immediate effect.
According to the statement, Hammayo who is also overseeing the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning will continue to oversee the two Ministries while serving as Secretary to the State Government.
The Governor, according to the Chief Press Secretary, has appointed Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Mohammed as the new Chief of Staff.
Abdulkadir Mohammed, who is currently the Commissioner of Animal Resources and Nomadic Resettlement, is to continue to oversee the activities of the Ministry.
“His Excellency thanks the former SSG and CoS for their service to the people of Bauchi State and wishes them success in their future endeavours,” the statement read in part.
Although no reason for the development was given, there are indications that it may not be unconnected with the recent visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to the state over the weekend for the PDP North-East Zonal rally.
Barrister Ibrahim Dandija had served as SSG for seven years while Musa Gumli had served as Chief of Staff for three years. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
