LAGOS: Dopemu, Iyana-Ipaja bridges to be shut for 4 wks

Lagos State government will start maintenance work on both Dopemu and Iyana-Ipaja bridges from Saturday March 15, to April 5, 2014, so they will be closed.
The state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa, who announced the planned closure, said the maintenance work was awarded to China Civil Engineering Construction Company, CCECC.
According to Opeifa, the contractor will work on the Dopemu bridge for the first 10 days, starting from this Saturday March 15, to Monday March 24, then move to the Iyana-Ipaja bridge from Tuesday, March 25 to Saturday April 5.
Consequently, vehicles approaching Dopemu bridge from Ile- Zik inward Iyana Ipaja could make a u-turn back to Dopemu bridge via the opened median along the Lagos- Abeokuta expressway15th or take a left turn into Alimoso road and use the following link roads back to Akowonjo or Iyana-Ipaja road.
