Jonathan urges Nigerians to trust PDP

President Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to Nigerians to continue to trust the PDP in their choice for elective offices.

Jonathan made the appeal at a rally organised by the party’s North Central Zone in Minna on Saturday.

He added that PDP remained the only party that was yet to change its slogan, logo or name since its formation in 1998.

Jonathan urged Nigerians not to trust those he said had dined and wined with the party for the past 14 years, and had attained various elected positions like governors, senators and others only to turn around and dump the party.

He described such people as chameleons who should not be trusted.

“PDP is still the party for all Nigerians. It is the party for the Nigerian students, it is party for Nigerian youths, women, men and elders,” he said.

He expressed optimism that the PDP would win elections in Nasarawa and Kwara States come 2015.

Jonathan stressed that the party would ensure that the two states were recovered from the grip of opposition party.

He added that the two states would be reconstructed and restructured in line with the vision and philosophy of PDP.

He also assured the party’s supporters that it would continue to remain in power in Niger, Kogi and Benue, stressing that the PDP remained the dominant party to beat in the country.

Jonathan said the rally was not organised to campaign for any elective office but to remind the people of the zone to continue to support the party.

In his remark, the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, said the party had brought about positive changes to Nigeria and Nigerians in the past 14 years.

“We know PDP is Nigeria and Nigeria is PDP,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Senate President David Mark, Governors of Bauchi, Plateau, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Kogi, Taraba and Benue were among those who attended the rally.

  1. Enough is enough Mr. President.
PDP is a big loss to Nigeria.

PDP can't build one refinery since year 2000.
PDP never think of a National Carrier while Presidential Jets many.
    PDP can't create jobs
PDP turns great numbers of Nigerians into armed robbers.
PDP is a party of looters.

Unless you prove abovementioned points wrong, there is no more chance for a party that knows how steal and not how to build.

  2. PDP was formed in 1998 with a lot of promises to make Nigeria better. After 14 good years which of the PROMISES fulfilled to encourage Nigerians to trust the PDP in their choice for elective offices?

    Electricity remains shameful to date
Security of life and properties worsen to date
National Carrier (Nigerian Airways) became history
No single Refinery built to date and the old ones neglected
Roads in Nigeria are death traps
    Transportation never given attention
Farmers never given attention. Therefore, more than 50% our need come from outside

PDP must explain why all promises above are yet to see the light.
Nigerians need trusted and patriotic people to rule. It is a pity PDP is not the solution to our problem in Nigeria.

  5. This is one of the reasons why I have no single confidence on President GEJ. PDP is trying by all cost to bring back those defected party kingpins, now here my president talking:

"Jonathan urged Nigerians not to trust those he said had dined and wined with the party for the past 14 years, and had attained various elected positions like governors, senators and others only to turn around and dump the party.

He described such people as chameleons who should not be trusted."

With due respect, it is absolutely wrong; you talk to people in this way and you want them coming back, it is impossible. Mostly, politicians are public figures, they should be careful while talking in public.

I know a lot of yam-headed enemies of truth must talk against my observation. I do not care but to always get facts promptly articulated. 9ja-eye too always suspend me, I don't care you can go to hell, truth must be said no matter how expensive it is.
