Jonathan blames governors for insecurity

President Goodluck Jonathan has taken a swipe at governors of states plagued with insecurity in the North East part of the country accusing them of failing in their duties.

Apparently referring to Governor Kashim  Shettima of Borno State and Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State, Jonathan at  the  North East Zonal Rally of the PDP in Bauchi on Saturday,  Jonathan said it was wrong for the governors to blame the federal governor for the situation in the states.
He however noted that the Federal Government will not rest on its oars in bringing an end to the insurgency in the region.
“It is shameful for a governor who has stayed in power in his state for up to six years or more to come to me and talk about bad leadership when you have youths in your state that more than half have not attended primary and you are doing nothing about it.
“State Governors should be ashamed when our children do not go to primary and secondary schools and they decided to carry arms. We had insecurity challenges in Bayelsa when I was deputy governor and later governor   and we handled them. It is not the duty of FG to send children to Primary and Secondary schools but it is the constitutional right of the Federal Government to make sure children attend tertiary institutions which we have done, “Jonathan said.
The President said the situation in the North East is sad but assured that peace will be restored in the affected states soon.
Speaking on the fortunes of the PDP come 2015, the President boasted that his party will surely reclaim Adamawa, retain Taraba and take over Borno and Yobe States.
He noted that those claiming to be strong opposition in Adamawa state are only “leaving with one vote”.
Other Speakers who spoke at the zonal rally acknowledged the insecurity in the region.
The National Chairman of the PDP Ahmadu Adamu Muazu called on the aspirants in the party to go back to their villages and solicit for their mandate, stressing that there is no God Father in PDP today. Only the God of Adam and Eve that can give you power.

  2. A real typical and a proper example of an “EDUCATED ILLITRATE“, i wonder when a state governor become the commander in chief of the armed forces. From this man‘s statement i have come to a conclussion that he doesn‘t even know his responsibilities as a president to the citizens. Mr president, if it‘s the rate of crime that determines the numbers of illitrates in a given society then i chanllege mr president that there are more illitrate in the south than in the north bcos of the rate and number of people engaged in criminal activities in the south. It‘s only a FOOL that never accept blames but rather keep on shiffting it one to direction or to another.

  5. I just don't kno when @Tarauni wil stop being sentimental and reason wit other serious minded people... Even the Northern people nw believe that their leaders are the root of their problems today... I guess u are from north, so, over to u people to rebuild ur region for good and not for crisis... God bless Nigeria.

  6. This guy that yourself Tarauni, I have been following your write ups here, it seems to me that you are a daft. I have leaved in Maiduguri for several years and I want to say that Mr President is absolutely 100% right. Where on earth will you compare the South and Northern youth when you talk about level of illiteracy. I don't blame Shettima so much before he only inherited the mess that SAS brought to Borno State. Your Elders and the rich cabals in the North have denied your youths that right to education simply because you want to maintain the class separation. Allowing the youths to be begging under your tables and you use them for your political ambitions. Have you heard of a Southern Governors that sprays money every Friday to the youths, you can see that in the North. ofcourse am saying that the Southern Govs are saints either. They have their own sins as well. Don't insult the President of your Country on what all of us knows is the truth.

  7. The president has failed to mention how many percentage of secondary school leavers in Nigeria can the universities admit or that how many percentage of university graduates can get jobs. We are all witnesses to the immigration recruitment shame and our president is here chasing shadows. We have said it before that the president is insincere in his fight against insurgency but rather he is busy plotting how to exploit the situation to his political advantage because Ijaw are not affected. He is using his trained snipers to cause more confusion in the north while his cronies are busy stealing the country blind. History will definitely judge you.

  8. This forum is becoming something else, some were here not to express their opinions (which they don't have) but to read your "own personal" opinion and what will they do? They will started using abusive words, trying to bring what they don't have/know on board.
Even when you have a typographical error (due to ntworking system) what'll they do?...... your guess is good as mine).
Now back to the issues on hand, either constructive or destructive comments, every one has right to say whatever he/she thinks, it's left for you to ignore or admit it.
We are all having different experience about what's going on in this country so we should respect each others contributions

  9. did the tell anybody they are ready for school? the sultan asked jonathan to build schools for almarin and it was approved immediately without asking the almarins if they are interested. the industry that produces almarins without control should be corrected first.
the decent families in the north they value education are enjoying their life.

  10. One thing that is very common to the northern people is that, they don't appreciate ur achievement (s) if u are not from the north especially, if u are not a muslim. They always want to rule by force even when people don't need their services... With the position of the VP given to north, yet, they are not contented, but the only option is to make Nigeria ungovernable to the democratically elected president.

  11. People should stop talking out of point .face issue as they come .President is right on this one .the decay in the north is caused by them .they have been using fed money as they want now power has left them and the wound is open .that why they want power by all means but the truth is that all these are eye openers let them wake up to reality because power will not go back to them in a long time to come

  12. My “SO“ learned and educated anonymous, pls can somebody tell me the real and dictionary meaning of the word “ILLITERATE“ so we can all analyse and at the end i can tell some of you “IDIOTS“ my reasons for saying the rate of illiteracy in south, especially in the south-south and southeast is more than that of the north. I wonder the kind of education and kmowledge their acquired that make the “BASTARDS“ reason only with their stinking “MOUTH,DICK AND PUSSY“. WHAT A REAL LEARNED AND EDUCATED “ILLITERATE“ FROM THE SOUTH..........! RUBBISH AND USELESS SET OF PEOPLE!

  13. Yet they call themselves learned, educated and wise ones, but a learned person dosen‘t devait from a topic or issues at hand. Tarauni, always speaks for himself, my most concern is not for a paticular person or group of persons from a paticular region of the country to govern the nation but let that person or group persons be reasonable, competent and qualified to govern the nation irrespective of their tribal and religion diffrences afterall gen Babangida and late gen Abacha both are from the north and among the long lasting serving head of states and presidents of this country but what did we get “SHITS“ and more“SHITS“. More so, the country belongs to all of us both the MUSLIMS,Christians and even the free thinkers so this issue of the president “MOST“ come from the north is not my idea or major ‘priority‘ but my most concerned is to have a responsible, reasonable,GOD fearing and a competent person, Unlike this present “FOOLS“ tha some of you “IDIOTS“ call leaders, and for some of those “ASHAWO“ pikings that reffered to us as “ALMAJIRIS“,i swear by GOD ALMLGTHY, i rather send my child to ALMAJIRI school than to armed him with a gun to go and become a “MILITANT,ARMED ROBBER,KINDNAPPER,RAPIST OR SEND HER TO A BABY MAKING FACTORY OR EVEN THE WORST SEND HER TO ITALY TO BE SCREWED AND FUCKED USELESS BY THE PIGS AND DOGS. Only if the “IDIOTS“ know what the ARABIC meaning for the word “ALMAJIRI“.

  15. I've tried to decline commenting on above comments but I just had to say something. Why blame Turani?or why rain abuses words on him? All he did was to express how he feels or think about the topic though I'm not in support of the foul languages he used and that of others too cz its lame, its just like fighting or cursing someone on TV.

Yeah the issue, those of of advocating/supporting GEJ, u guys or ladies needs to know that GEJ is not helping himself, maybe u can reach out to him to advice him, GEJ situation can be compared to one that the enemy plans to burn then he in turn applies petrol as a cream on his body. Tell me who is not really mad the way and manner GEJ is ruling?from
Oduagate to maduake to fuel subsidy to new jet etc its annoying when u have a bull with no balls or action. As a president, there are some decisions that must be taken quickly while some can be delayed or slept on but u don't just delay all decisions!, till moment for almost 6yrs no corrupt person has been jailed!! Haba! Is Nija dt good or are there no corrupt pple among us? pls guys do not blame anybody for not supporting GEJ, most hated they way and manner he governs as for me I don't dislike him as a person but I can see he's not the kind of president Nigeria deserves if GEJ continues in this way and manner beyond 2015 only God knows what will become of Nigeria.

    Mark.
