FG offers 90 Hyundai cars, cash prizes in 2014 centenary lottery

The Federal Government has rolled out a 90-day lottery programme to complement activities commemorating the country’s centenary celebration.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, flagged off the programme on Monday in Abuja in which N100million was announced as the star price in addition to 90 Hyundai cars which would be won on a daily basis for 90days.

Also, various consolation prices ranging from tricyles, generators, smart phones, television sets and freezers would be given out to lucky winners through out the duration of the draws.

There would also be weekly bonus price of N5million which will be aired on the Nigeria Television Authority at 8:00 pm daily.

The lottery is being facilitiated by Secure Electronic Technology Plc in collaboration with the major telecommunication providers such as MTN, Etisalat, Glo, Airtel and Visa phone.

Other stakeholders include, Nigeria Lottery Regulatory Commission, Nigeria Communication Commission, Ministries of Culture and Tourism and Communications.

Nigerians are expected to text QP to 35777 to participate in the lottery.

Anyim tasked the organisers on transparency and fairness, saying,”the integrity and involvement of all the stakeholders was at stake if the entire process was flawed.”

He said,”You must make fairness and transparency your watch words through out the duration of the Centenary Lottery. The Centenary lottery stands out as one programme that all Nigerians can participate in,it also stands out as a means to give back to Nigerians and bring the benefits of the Centenary celebration home to many Nigerians.”

Also speaking, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Edem Duke urged Nigerians to take advantage of the lottery to refresh their memories on the history of Nigeria, especially on the occasion of the 100 years anniversary.

According to him, the questions would be tied around historical events in Nigeria.

Representatives of the various telecommunication providers all pledged their support to ensure the lottery runs smoothly.

  1. Why would they use it to extort money from Nigerians, when u are looking for a job, they will ask you to buy scratch cards, now that they want to give out gift for answering questions pertaining the history of Nigeria, why would it cost 100naira for one to answer a question and who knows how many questions one would answer before qualifying for the draw that u might end up not winning? This is fraud

  12. This is rubbish. Are we suppose to pay as much as #100 for this lottery. Why are we being treated like this for God's sake. Do u have to use us as a source of revenue for yourselves even when you are paid daily/monthly/annualy through 'pack as u fit chop'. This is unfair. Whats the essence of the centinary lottery when it is not for the low class citizens but for the middle and high class. This is colonization. We are being colonised by the federal government. "i will like u to know that you are not immortals".

Imagine, N100 which enough for a poor man to buy a kongo of garri in some part of d country was planned by d FG to be exploited from a common man's pocket, all in d name of try ur luck. This is unfair, pls let us (FG) fear God.

  21. Even the Federal government is joining in the fraud perpetrated by the telecom providers against the people of Nigeria. If they say text OP to 35777 to win why can't they just stop at that? Leading people into sending more text and there by spending more for this lottery is pure fraud and extortion. Nigeria, when shall it end?

  28. Fellow Nigerians, i needed a strong convincing proof before coming out to say this and i have gotten one. i used my MTN line and send entries worth =N=4,0000 all i got was =N=3,800. from my wallet as my winning prize. I thought i was unlucky, so i tried the order Airtel line and send entries worth =N=4,500. all i got again was =N=950. only. Am now convinced that this is a pure day light robbery and that the Hyundai Accent, Keke NAPEP and other prizes promised in the lotto are meant for specific party members or family members because i don't see any reason after sending entries worth =9,500 and still not win any of the prizes. 35. The Mega Draw for the Centenary Lottery Jackpot (N100Million) was advertised to hold on the 14th of June, 2014 and was supposed to be aired live on NTA... Today is 20th of June, 2014 and yet nothing was said or heard of the draw. So it could very well be said that this is nothing but a big CENTENARY FRAUD... As usual of course!!! It is a big SHAME that this Centenary Lottery thing is now looks like dirty SCAM... With all the big names in SET PLC's the board of Directors and the Nigerian government officials that originally endorsed this scheme... I really wonder if there remains a soul in this country that cares at all about INTEGRITY, FAIRNESS and ACCOUNTABILITY...

  36. I was a winner of the Hyundai Accent and first person to win Lagos State. I played with ₦6,000 and was lucky to be called and announced a winner on the national draws on NTA. My name is Udoka Ohiaeri. You can verify
