This however did not go down well with fans of the Nollywood stars.
Fans of many of the Nollywood stars have accused them of falling out of tune with the yearnings of the masses by celebrating what they call mediocrity and government ineptitude with their visit.
Segun, a former president of the guild has however reacted to the criticisms saying it’s their responsibility and right to visit the president and talk about their plights.
”I think it’s so unfair for anyone to criticize AGN for paying a courtesy visit to President Goodluck Jonathan. We are an Association in Nollywood and our visit was to discuss issues as it affects our Guild and the industry in general. Everybody transported themselves to and fro.
‘’We didn’t go begging for alms. We are very apolitical. We have a right to visit GEJ , after all, he’s the president of the federal Republic of Nigeria,’’
Continuing, he said, ‘Chyke Bryan who is the president of screen writers guild is down with kidney problem. What have the members of that guild of whom Kabat is also a member done to raise money for his treatment? They should stop poking their noses in other people’s business and focus on how to move the industry forward instead of bickering and sulking like Children. My pple! Why will u blame AGN for visiting GEJ? A lot has to be done or invested in Nollywood now after all a lot of foreign exchange are been generated by this group moreover its better to visit now b4 the whole Mony is been pocketed by the cabals in the government system, ASUU had collected theirs so let AGN get theirs too, other association, groups or institutions buckle up too so as to get yours b4 the whole mOny disappear once its 2015 no Mony again oo
