Jonathan condemns killing of Yobe students

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday condemned the killing of scores of students at a college in Yobe State, describing the incident as callous and senseless.

He said he received the news of the incident with immense sadness and anguish.

Jonathan’s reaction was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.

The President extended his condolences on behalf of himself and the Federal Government to the parents and relatives of the murdered students.

He promised that his administration would not relent in his anti-terrorism fight.

The statement read, “The President wholly condemns the heinous, brutal and mindless killing of the guiltless students by deranged terrorists and fanatics who have clearly lost all human morality and descended to bestiality.

“He assures the nation that his administration will not relent in its ongoing efforts to end the scourge of terrorism in parts of the country which has sadly claimed more innocent lives today.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies will continue to prosecute the war against terror with full vigour, diligence and determination until the dark cloud of mass murder and destruction of lives and property is permanently removed from our horizon.”

  1. It is a pity these heartless devils among us are playing politics with lives of innocent young souls. When one of the Governors of the affected States cried out to the public that the situation in the area is becoming worst every day, some unpatriotic Nigerians surrounding Mr. President are telling us they are on top of it.

When will the President do away with these hypocrites deceiving him on this dangerous issue?
When will the President think it is time to save our Military brothers and sisters who are dying daily trying to protect the innocent souls in the affected areas?
When will the President send one of these devils around him to go and live in the affected areas where they are deceiving him that his administration is on top of it?

Well, these devils must be ready to account for the innocent souls dying daily before Almighty God.

  2. What a pity for fellow citizens in the BH afflicted States to be living under ds clueless govt. How many more deaths of innocent students will have to be recorded b4 schools can be adequately protected? When will this Retard Reuben ever issue a statement commending the poorly motivated NA for even one successfull/significant military operation against BH. Apart from the embarrasing hoax regarding the killing of Shekau and the mistaken bombing of a senators convoy, what gain in real terms has been made against BH in the period of this ineffective state of emergency inspite of trillions of naira security spendings.

  3. When the Governor of Borno State cried out that it appears the insurgents are more heavily armed than the Nigerian military, the Presidency cried foul. The present carnage in Yobe State seem to suggest that the insurgents have the WEAPON to hide a convoy of vehicles while the Nigerian military lacks the WEAPON to detect such convoys. It also suggests that the insurgents have the WEAPON to strike when the military withdraws their checkpoints while the military has the WEAPON to reimpose checkpoints only after the insurgents have struck. Now, who has a superior weapon?
