President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday alleged that corrupt Nigerians are the ones who openly accuse him of not fighting corruption.
Making a veiled reference to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, who recently claimed that his body language encourages corruption, Jonathan said his critics make such statements to claim credibility.
The President spoke shortly after swearing in the chairman and members of the National Population Commission; a member of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission and two special advisers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said the only sure way of becoming an instant angel was to go public and attack his government.
Jonathan said, “Anybody who wants to claim an element of credibility will go to the television and accuse government of corruption, that the President’s body language shows that he is not fighting corruption or that he is not ready to fight corruption.
“Sometimes, even the very corrupt people are those making these statements because if you attack government, you are insulated, you become an angel.
“If you want to be an angel, just attack the government, whatever you have done is covered.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

If Mr President can say this, that means he knows the corrupt officials, even before EFCC could mention, if at all. If this is the case, then what is he doing about it. A country or government that do not take a strong hold of corrupt officials in terms of discipline, such country or government is not ready yet. What make Ghana a good country today compared to what it use to be, people figure it out youself. Mr President you toi figure it out.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what you are for.
ReplyDeleteYou better go for them , that way we can know who the angel is and who the Bank ole , Ooops I mean thief is
Abeg Uncle Jona, mention their names one after the other.
ReplyDeleteThere is wisdom here Mr President.
ReplyDeleteThis is why we should give other party chance and see what will come out from them. Currupt party, Currier leader, currupt people.
ReplyDeleteThose that accuse GEJ as clueless are now justified. If truly you know the corrupt elements why not unleash EFCC and ICPC on them? It is a shame!
ReplyDeleteMost of the corrupt officials are shielded by immunity, governors, speaker house of rep, senate president. The most corrupt among them are the governors.
ReplyDeleteE.g....... eye kongba(Tinubu) FFK, Amechi etc.......
ReplyDeleteGEJ is nothing but an hypocrite and he his just the Shagari of this our era (this I declare by the Spirit of the Most High God). He has the double portion of Shagari's incompetence, sense of denial and lack of will power to fight corruption. Just like Shagari in those days, GEJ is ready to sacrifice anything just to be allowed to be President even if it means making thugs and militants like Tompolo, Asari, et al to be stinkingly rich and continue with the atrocities even against their own Country.
ReplyDeleteGEJ is like the biblical person that looks into a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
Please cast your mind back to the way Shagari met Nigeria and how it was when he had to be booted out. GEJ will only destroy this Nation cause he had nothing to offer. God will indeed hold some noted Pentecostal Clergies and their entire household responsible.
Dis GEJ dey make me laff, he said dat its corrupt nigerians dat is accusing him of nt fighting corruption,y don't u go after dem.since u no dem.it means what dey a saying is truth den
ReplyDeleteLet me help Mr President mention some name. Atiku is the most corrupt politician in Nigeria, Tinubu is closely trailing behind him. Lagos is a corruption heaven with the most corrupt Speaker Ikufurji. Have u forgotten pentascope and El-Rufai, fct mismanagement and paying N1million per month to his corper girlfriend. Femi Fani Kayode and aviation loot. Chibuike Amaechi etc. The law will definitely catch up with them very soon
ReplyDeletePardoning a serial n shameless rogue like ur former Bayelsa boss,Alams shows ur lack of morals, ineptitude n incompetency fighting corruption.
ReplyDeleteIf you know them then fish them out. That is why you are there. Do the work of a leader and stop trying to justify yourself.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous above. Why are you so biased. why mention those in one party and left those in the order. You sound clueless to me
