The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, of masterminding the kidnap of the Chairman of the party in Port Harcourt Local Government Area, Mr. Ikechi Chinda, a former member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Chinyere Igwe and Mr. Allwell Ihunda.
The state Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Felix Obuah, said the three members of the party were abducted by unidentified gunmen at about 8pm on Wednesday around Eagle Island axis of Port Harcourt.
Obuah, who spoke with newsmen at the state PDP secretariat on Thursday, alleged that Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress-led government were responsible for the kidnap of the party members.
He expressed surprise that the governor was playing politics with the security of lives and property and branding his political opponents his worst enemies.
Obuah said, “After a very careful examination of the circumstances surrounding the abduction of our party leaders, the party believes that the abduction was masterminded by Amaechi and the APC-led government in the state.
In her response, the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, described the PDP as insensitive for playing politics with the lives of their members.
Semenitari said the state government condemned the abduction of three members of the PDP and appealed to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin, to ensure the release of the victims and arrest of those behind the act.
Reacting to the abduction of the three PDP members, the state Commissioner of Police said the State Police Command was aware of the incident and was working round the clock to ensure the release of the victims and arrest of those behind the act.

I can finally see that this country is doomed!! How can u just accuse someone without a proof or some facts linking him to the said crime?how do we just reason in this part of the world? The rate of kidnapping is on high as we know they could be kidnapped or set up by their brothers,wives,friends even by their children or pple that knows them also it could be Amaechi but the point here is u just don't come out shouting if u aint got an iota of proof especially when an highly placed person is involved. I know we have no mOre regards towrds our politicians but let's respect the institution.

If this is not the case let Amaechi go to court for wrong accusation. The State PDP knows Amaechi like the back of one's hand.

ReplyDeleteAmaechi should sue that looser and make him pay for his foolishness. Its Nigerian's money that PDP looted and amassed that is attracting kidnappers to you. Who kidnapped GEJ's causing? Its the flamboyant and extravagant life he has been living with tax payers money that caught up with him. Leave Amaechi out of this.
