Former Nigerian minister, Isaiah Balat dies

Senator Isaiah Balat, a key aide and political associate of Nigeria’s Vice President Namadi Sambo, is dead.
A prominent politician in Kaduna State, Balat was 62 years old.
Balat, before his death was an adviser to the Vice President.
He was also close to President Goodluck Jonathan and was one of the foot-soldiers who led the campaign of the President, especially in the Northern part of the country for the 2011 general elections.
NigerianEye learnt that Balat died in Abuja on Tuesday afternoon, but the reasons for the sudden demise of the Senator could not be confirmed.
Balat served as the Minister of State for Works and Housing from 1999-2000 and also as a Senator representing Kaduna South Local Government from 2003- 2007. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
