The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has condemned media reports on a purported foreign trip by the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, for medical treatment
Mohammed, who spoke on Sunday in Abuja, when the first lady paid him a condolence visit over the death of his brother, Malam Yusuf Mohammed, described the report as malicious.
“We want to dispute media reports that you are sick and rushed abroad, but here you are resplendent and beautiful.
“We wish to tell the ‘Judases’ that they are not God and that anybody can fall sick.’’
He said that Mrs Jonathan’s support to her husband, the nation and vulnerable women was important, noting that she had a “positive impact on our lives’’.
Mohammed said that his late brother was a technocrat who lived a life worthy of emulation.
“He served as a teacher, administrator; he trained me and brought me to a level where we can relate with people of integrity and pedigree,’’ he said.
Condoling the minister earlier, the first lady said that the death of Malam Mohammed was a loss to the government and people of Bauchi State, as he was a well-respected community leader in the state.
“It is quite sad, but we can’t question God. He gives and takes, but we can pray that his soul should rest in perfect peace ,and may God raise another person to fill his gap.

There is no nid for u mr minister to condem the media since mst of d time u pple in govt lie to we nigerians, can u remember how long u kept ya'adua's state of health? ReplyDeleteAfter everything, u will find that the media report is right. The last time the ministers were lying about her state of health, mrs. Jonathan came to expose them and confirm the media report that she was dead for 7 day but God broughher back after several major surgeries and yet the mijisters have not come out to apologise to Nigerians for lying to us or whose money do you think is being used for these trips and treatment? Let's stop blaming the media, they are doing their job.
