The FRSC in Ogun has called on vehicle owners in the state to change over to the new number plates and drivers licence before the end of June.
The Sector Commander, Mr Adegoke Adetunji, made the call on Monday in Abeokuta in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
He implored vehicle owners not to wait until the expiration of the deadline before processing their number plates and drivers’ licence.
“They should start the processing now in order not to be caught on the wrong side of the law.
“If they (vehicle owners) start early, they will get the licence without stress; the processes are not tedious,” Adetunji said.
The commander also urged road users to cooperate with officials of the commission by observing road signs and complying with traffic regulations.
He advised drivers to demonstrate good attitude on the highways and consider other road users.
“I want to beg our drivers to have a rethink, have attitudinal change and observe all traffic rules and regulations in order to reduce crashes on our roads
“The issue of safety on the road is everybody’s business, not only for officials of the commission,” he said.
