Joseph Mbu removed as Rivers State commisioner of police

The Police Service Commission has transferred the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu, after months of resisting public pressure.

Mbu was moved to the Federal Capital Territory Command while the Commissioner in charge of the Special Fraud Unit, Johnson Ogunshakin, replaces him in the state.

The CP has been at loggerheads with the state government, which had accused the police boss in the state of taking sides in the lingering political crisis in the state.

The state Governor, Rotomi Amaechi, and the All Progressives Congress have insisted on Mbu’s removal, accusing him of partisanship and issuing unconstitutional directives.

In all, 13 senior officers were affected by the transfer exercise.

    1. You are as daft as your comment. What did Mbu commit that warrants dismissal. He never disrespected his boss - the IGP so watch what you write. Is Amechi respecting his boss? Lets call a spade a spade. In two weeks same Amechi will cry that the Ogunsakin is maltreating him. He wants to appoint his own CP Let him convert that his ADC that assisted in breaking the mase on a legislators head to become the CP of Rivers State

    1. If not for APC on budget blockage, MBU would have still be pressidency's instrument in dealing with Hon. Rotimi. That is what a strong opposition stands for-Effective Change

  16. Analytically, mbu was never the issue in rivers state. Mr. Ameachi is beclouded with a false ego that is why he he keeps courting unnecessary attention. Just watch out for his end....pray he doesn't crash land with too many bruises to his political ambition

  17. Now that Amechi's wish has been met He too should learn how to reset constituted authority. He is not the ony PDP Governor that defected to APC so why should he be the one arranging rallies daily. He even had time to drive that midget - El Rufai to honour SSS invitation as if there is no work in Rivers State
I also pray they will not experience an Ogunsakin as jumping from Frying Pan to Fire
    Joseph

  18. It is hasty to rejoice over the redeployment of Mbu; who is Ogunshakin and to whom is his loyalty, the presidency or Rivers State? Keep your eyes opened for another show of power in Rivers State. He who pays the piper dictates the tunes

  19. Mbu should be dismissed and AIG Abubakar should shacked and the newly assumed commissioner should be thoroughly guided and disallow 1st lady for manipulating him.

  20. Tax payers money is used to keep anti-people officers and we don't see it as a problem What a people. Mbu has cause the death of many tax payers in Rivers State in cause of carying out follow follow instruction of "Mrs. President" Dame or daft. Now he is going to recieve another money to cause harm to the people of FCT. It may be the Minister of FCT or APC folks. Each time he try to obey a dumb master, Nigerians are killed like chickens and he is still being paid with Tax payers money...the same people he is killing. We have bought a Lion as a pet in Mr. Mbu's case
