Atiku, Amaechi, others’ APC sojourn will fail - Muazu

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, said on Thursday that the journey embarked by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and five governors, who left the party for the All Progressives Congress would not be successful.

The five governors, who have left the party for the APC, are Aliyu Wamakko(Sokoto), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Abdulfatai Ahmed(Kwara ) Murtala Nyako(Adamawa) and Rabiu Kwankwanso(Kano).

Mu’azu spoke when he received members of the party from Katsina State, who were led to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on a courtesy call by the Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema.

He said it would be better for those who defected to return to the party.

But Abubakar and the governors have vowed not to return to the ruling party.

Mu’azu said, “I appeal to those who have been wronged and decided to embark on a journey that is not going to be successful to come back home, especially the five governors and others.”

Mu’azu said the rule of law would be followed under his leadership, insisting that the party would recover lost ground.

He noted that though the party had lost some governors, he asked members of the party not to lose faith in God, adding, “I am doing whatever it will take to ensure internal democracy in the party.”

Speaking on behalf of the delegates, Shema said he had every reason to be committed to the party, being the only person that had emerged from the party’s National Working Committee to be governor.

He boasted that PDP would continue to rule and govern Nigeria, describing it as the only party without religion border or ethnic barrier in the country.

“PDP will continue to retain power in Katsina. I will continue to work with this party to serve the purpose of this country. We have been faithful with the requirement of our party’s constitution,” Shema added.

  1. Who this man think he is? A God? Let me share something with you and your coconut headed followers.
Nigerians are more wiser than what you thought of us and by the way, we have tried your (PDP) hot frying pan(obasanjo) and your fire(GEJ), so what's the different (both are selfish, desperate,"out of touch")
APC may not be different but what choices do we have? (continue living in dillusion)

  3. Amaechi my brother, do not be misled by what you see now. What ever we have done to you, pls sorry and come "home". Leave those people, they have a different agenda which they will unfold in 2015 and that agenda does not include you. Remember what they did to Marwa, he is now a follow, follow, remember Atiku, he is a political prostitute, remember your brother Odili, chei, shame does not even allow him even to appear on TV again. Please my brother calm down, come home, we are Niger Deltans, we know how to resolve our problems. You are a good man and our choice but let us not shoot ourselves on the leg. Remember, they are watching us to fall.

  4. @Anonymous 2, It is impossible to turn Nigeria to an Islamic country use your head my brother; what is the reason for having both lower and upper houses of assembly?

It is impossible besides, PDP have nothing to offer us unless we are ready to continue sleeping, breathing, swimming and all that in abject poverty; they are group of thieves or don't you hear what Sanusi Lamido Sanusi says. This country can't be entrusted in to the hands of blinds; the country must move forward and this crops of PDP can't help us unless to worsen the situation.

    you better be informed.
