Nigeria striker Peter Odemwingie is set to join EPL side Stoke City, after Stoke confirmed on Saturday that Osaze Odemwingie will join up from Cardiff City should he pass a medical and agree personal terms.
Odemwingie, who has endured a tough 12 months in England, left West Bromwich Albion under cloudy circumstances this summer after his much documented clash with the West Bromwich management because of his actions during the 2012/2013 winter transfer window.
His stay in the Welsh capital hasn't exactly been a success either and it now looks like he will be heading to the Britannia Stadium before the end of the transfer window.
Stoke City confirmed on their website (www.stokecityfc.com) that the 32-year-old will be swapped with Stoke City's striker Kenwyne Jones who will move in the opposite direction.
"The deal is subject to both players passing medicals and agreeing personal terms,"a statement from the website said.
The Potters will hope to tie up the deal for the former Lokomotiv Moscow striker who has scored one goal this season for the Welsh team.
Osaze Odemwingie, who was part of the silver-medal-winning football team at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, has played 55 times for the Super Eagles scoring nine goals.
