Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said he has commenced consultation on the invitation extended to him by the leaders of the All Progressives Congress to defect to the party.
Atiku, who is still a member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, stated this in a statement he personally signed in Abuja on Sunday.
He said the the consultation, which he said started sometimes ago, would continue for the next few weeks.
The statement said, “As we begin a new year, our nation has to begin anew. As you are aware, I have been engaged in formal and informal meetings with Nigerians for a while. And for the next few weeks, I will be travelling across the country in continuation of the consultative process.
“I will continue to listen to the hopes and fears of our people, so that together, we can build a future that we all can be proud of.
“The times we are in call for hard work because Nigerians matter and our country matters, too.
“I believe that this consultative process will reinforce our shared values and throw up a new way forward for our dear country.”
The APC leaders had visited Atiku in Abuja on December 18 at his Asokoro, Abuja residence, asking him to join the party.
The leaders were led by the Interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande.
Roll call of the delegation included former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shettima; former Speaker of House of Representatives, Bello Masari; Senator George Akume, former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, former chairman of Economic and Financial Crime Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Senator Kabiru Gaya among others. Here is another selfish Alhaji who has not done anything for his people but fill his pocket and egotistically prance around like an emperor with no clothes. Since when he give a damn about the people? Such lies do not wash with the general masses anymore as even northerners are now aware of how many decades of absolute power they had and wasted, hence Boko Haram with their feudal backwardness and total reliance on the resource of the SS when they could have done so much for themselves at being self sufficient. If you want to be a relevant looting power broker in APC then pick your number as hopefully all PDP rogues will be gone from that party to APC. Don't bite the hand that feeds you or Delta people will unplug you and your born to rule bigotry.

ReplyDeleteI am a southerner,has your governor done so well in your state to such a level that you can be proud of him as all the APC governors are doing in their different states?
APC leadership enforces discipline and performance which are lacking in PDP.
Look at Akala, Oyinlola, Gbenga Daniel to mention but a few,they are all failures,all having cases instituted against them by EFCC.
The Nuhu Ribadu of EFCC who fought Atiku of looting and the same one going to beg him to come and join their party? APC is doomed!
