Senior Pastor of the Household of God Church, Ikeja, Lagos, Rev. Chris Okotie, has declared his intention to contest the 2015 presidential election.
The pop star turned cleric told, announced his intention to become Nigeria’s number one citizen in 2015.
In a exclusive interview with The Punch, Rev. Okotie said he will run in 2015, God willing.
“God spoke to me about my participation in the political process, which was why I took the step in the first place. He has not said anything contrary.’’, Rev. Okotie said.
When he was reminded that he had always lost every election he took part in by the reporters, Rev. Okotie explained that he had lost those elections as a result of election malpractices carried out,
He said, “I can sum it up in one word-rigging by the PDP. Even one of the party’s stalwarts, Chief Adeseye Ogunlewe, told The PUNCH recently that all elections have always been rigged. So that answers the question.
“These election questions are inter-related. If they didn’t rig, then I could have won. Apart from election malpractices, the duty of a servant of God is to obey his master when he gives him instructions, irrespective of whether he fails or succeeds. Like Moses in the Bible, who kept fighting until Pharaoh released the Israelites.’’ Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteyour critics will eventually retreat in shame during your swearing in ceremony as the president and commander in chief. of the federal republic of Nigeria. many would come to lobby for appointments and contracts, but now they have forgotten the story of Abraham Lincoln
ReplyDeleteI beg make una free the guy
ReplyDeleteWe do not know who Chris' god is, but he should not forget that his god did not tell the rest of us Nigerians! I understand that in Chris' faith that messages come to people through the Holy Spirit and that lies against the Holy Spirit are unforgivable. Chris is a Nigerian and has right to vie for elective positions, he could do just that and leave out this less convincing communication with his god. Whether Chris is a man-anointed man of god or a god-anointed one' is not an issue here. Good luck Chris.

ReplyDeleteThis guy has a psychological problem.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 2.55. You are perfectly correct. The guy needs help instead of condemnation!
DeleteU don't need to tell us. It's btw u & God that told u so that u don't make God a liar. God can not lie. We, human beings, sometimes lie by saying 'God said' when He didn't. I always pray for a Godly man to rule this country. Who knows if u re him.........
ReplyDeletePls, you people should take it easy with Chris, he said God told him to run, running for presidency is different from winning. You may as well ask him if he ever cared to ask God about the outcome of the contest.
ReplyDeleteThis guy suffers from a delusion of religious grandiousity...
ReplyDeleteSincerely most of the comments here are borne out of pure envy and ignorance. if you read the original interview from punch he never specifically said that God told him to run for 2015, he simply said God told him to get involved in the political process in Nigeria. I am shocked by the level of ignorance i see on the internet here. people taking out there frustrations on people with priviledged life stlyes. how many of you can make the kind of sacrifices that pastor Chris made for the kingdom of God. he deserves the blessing he is enjoying now. if he is using church money, leave him for God. you clean up your life first. some of you are busy pilfering from office money and you are beefing pastor chris because he has access to hundreds of millions. if you are in that position you will much worse. dont you think that if pastor was interested in money he would have joined PDP since. after all a lot of pastors have sold their intergrity by fraternising with PDP, ( do we really need to mention names of these pastors) yet pastor chris is the only pastor that comes out publicly to condemn what PDP is doing. dont you think he deserves our kudos for that? you guys should please go and clean up your house beofre looking into pastor chris house. mttchhhww.
