Wife of the former Ekiti State Governor, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose, on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti, the state capital said that her husband’s return to Ekiti State Government House following the 2014 governorship election in the state was certain and imminent.
She made the prediction at her 50th birthday anniversary reception saying Fayose’s return was ordained by God.
The birthday celebration, held at the Ayo Fayose Campaign Organization’s office, Adebayo area, Ado Ekiti, attracted mammoth crowd of women from the 16 Local Government Council Areas of the state.
Feyisetan described her husband as the best governor in the history of the state, adding that “he did not plunge the state into unnecessary debt burden”.
She added, “I am not a politician but a woman that believes in God. As the Lord liveth, I have simply come to announce to you and any other doubting Thomases of the inevitable return and restoration of my husband, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, to his seat as the next governor of Ekiti State.
“By the special grace of God, his return is certain and so destined. I am telling you that nothing can stop it. Ayo Fayose is a man with fierce outlook, but with a good heart”.
She added that rather than submerge the state into burden of debt he left N10bn in the state’s coffers, saying, “Almost eight years after his exit, his name is still a household name in Ekiti”.
In his remarks, Fayose described the indication by Governor Kayode Fayemi that he would conduct Local Government election in 2014 as belated, saying, “Time is up for the present government because the PDP has come to take over the administration of Ekiti State”.
Fayose, who described his wife as ‘an appropriate balance and pillar of support’, added that he remained relevant to the politics of the state because of his truthfulness while serving as a governor. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
