Ghana defeated DR Congo 1-0 in the final African Nations Championship quarter-final on Sunday, setting up a West African derby against rivals Nigeria in the last-four.
A 67th minute penalty was enough to see Ghana through, Kwabina Adusei slotting his place kick comfortably past the Congolese keeper.
Congo had a few half chances to pull it back, but never really looked like equalising.
On 83 minutes Ghanaian striker Mohammed Yahaya should have put it beyond doubt. Clear through on goal he shot the ball directly into the keeper's body.
At the end of the day the extra goal was not needed. Ghana won 1-0.
Ghana's victory ends the quarter-finals, which also saw Zimbabwe, Libya and Nigeria go through.
Earlier in the evening Libya defeated Gabon on penalties in a hard fought quarter-final that finished 1-1 after extra-time. They will now face Zimbabwe. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

DeleteEagles should play their game. Do not give too much respect to Ghana. They fear us more than we fear them. Win them and bring the trophy home.
